Personally I think Arbola sees Nani trying to control the ball at that height and decides to keep going and clatter in to him...clever play if that's the case.

Fergie will be on the rampage for the rest of the season now...couldn't of gone better for us tonight. United will be up for caning Arsenal and Chelsea no matter if they've won the League or not. Ferguson will want to win by as many points as possible to rub into City - happy days.

Or having nothing left to play for, with the league already won, they may use the opportunity to blood some youngsters or give game time to some fringe players to see how they do in a big game. It could just as easily be bad for us as it could be good.

Having seen the red card incident again I can see why he was sent off and don't think it was as terrible decision as I did at the time.

Only problem with this result is that it may soon be a top 3 finish being needed for a champions league place. Here's hoping us winning the Europa may help the premier league coefficient a bit.
No danger. It would require 2 or 3 more seasons of no QF appearences before that I think. chavs did win it last time out don't forget so that will have helped.

So Yanited get the rough end of the wedge in a match at OT. Excuse me while I peel a fuckin' onion. How unfair for "our boys." Watch the slo-mo replay of the Nani incident. The ONLY part of his body that connected with the RM player was his foot. And yet he goes down, rolls around with his hands around his head (FFS!), lies down as if injured. My reading: he KNEW he was in danger of a red for a "studs up" challenge and was trying to get away with it. Sorry Fergie, it's a different ball game in Europe.

Ffs why can't we support our own in Europe? Especially Man U. So angry with the ref, not sure I could handle it if it was us.
I would if it didn't mean United handing 6 points to Chelsea and Arsenal.

At least now they is less incentive to play a weakened team against them.

Don't really agree mate. It would of been far worse had they progressed in the CL, and if the League was looking safe by the time they played Arsenal/Chelsea....the semis are sandwiched in between the Arsenal game - they would of prioritised it for certain. IMO.

The chavs winning still meant we got less points than Spain. English teams need to take the europa more seriously. :D

I can't understand how Keane says that is a red though, it's just a high foot, that's all. If you're going to give a red card for that then you'd have to give a red card to anyone that does an overhead kick while near a defender as it's "dangerous play".

Yellow card at most.

Keane don't give a tuppenny fuck what the others think, which is excellent..
I very often agree with him as well. A take no fools, get out of here with the excuses kind of guy is old Roy. I will always cherish the moment he went mad dog stare on the trash talking Vieira in the tunnel before a game.

I though he was going to shiv him.
