Pass me a Heldenbrau Super geezer!Just you y'great lord
Right- this was painful, lets pick ourselves up and smash Fulham on SUNDAY - Welcome back Dawson and Bale.... CoYS
Hell Yes ! I swore and danced with deep joy and cussed and cussed. They rest they say is magic. But manic.
The referee of Thursday's Europa League match between Tottenham and Inter Milan has been sent a blind man's white stick by frustrated fans of Croatian side Hajduk Split 'to help him referee the game fairly'.
Fans in his home country were so outraged by referee Ivan Bebek's decisions in a recent game between Split and Dinamo Zagreb they sent a package to him to the Croatian Football Federation which included the white stick, a ref jersey and a rival team scarf. The fan club issued a statement saying: "We apologize to blind people, we do not want to offend anyone, but just want to help the referee Ivan Bebek ahead of the game".
You set up a recording session? I almost ordered myself ECT so that the voltage through my brain would frazzle any memory of that match. The only problem is that watching Kyle Walker's mistakes is becoming like Groundhog Day.
My Old lady didn't !
I got a "WTF" for suggesting AVB drops some players and BF is one I had in mind, purely because we operate as a good defensive unit with Lloris in goal. We have moved on and we need a stable back five for the rest of the season.
Well, that took a few minutes off my life expectancy. I had set up a recording session for 8pm, but fuck that, I kept the guitarist waiting... now we've finished the session and he's gone and I can take a breath.
As I wrote at half time, the responsibility for that mess, albeit an ultimately successful mess, has to rest with our talented manager. Whilst his team were being embarrassingly useless for 90 minutes last week, Andrea Stramaccioni noticed something, which is that there is about a hectare of space in between our high-line defence and the goalkeeper when we play Friedel. His team were 3-0 down and the only way they were going to get back into the tie was to attack that space with counters and balls over the top.
Friedel is still a good 'keeper, but if he plays, we cannot play the defensive line 3m short of the halfway line when we're protecting a lead and we're away from home against a major club. It's not as if Brad made any dreadful mistakes. He just did what he has been doing for the past 20 years, did it pretty well, made some excellent saves and , um, let in 4 goals, because our defensive line did ineffectively what it has been doing effectively since the home match against Swansea. It was obvious that the approach wasn't working from about the 15th minute. There was just too much acreage between the goalkeeper and the defence. Did AVB change anything? Did he, fuck.
It wasn't the fault of the bloody strikers, dyspeptic as they both seemed. It wasn't the fault of Scott Parker, who was totally out of touch in the first half, but sorted himself out in the second half. The third goal was Kyle Walker's responsibility for giving away an avoidable free kick, but the rest of the goals were just down to inadvisable tactics. AVB is a great manager in many ways, but he's very young and sometimes he just gets it wrong. Tonight he got it totally wrong and then didn't take an opportunity to change it until Lennon came on.
Never mind: we got through in the end, thanks to Dembélé's persistence and - finally - a case of Adebayor being in the right place at the right time and not having enough time to figure out a novel way to miss the goal. Even then, we nearly managed to figure out a way to fuck it up.
But we didn't. We're getting better at that.
I know, we thought our front two are bad, he's got 2 goals in his last 20 appearances....Torres LOL
Whoever we had in goal tonight would not have saved the first goal. Look half way down the pitch and you would have seen Walker jogging back. After Sunday and tonight he cannot command a starting position. Seven goals conceded in two games says it all. Walker stinks the place out and Defoe should be fucking ashamed to pick up his 80k this week.
Walker was just about in his own half when the cross came over for their first goal David. He is becoming more and more of a liability. Not for the first time he got his priorities all wrong. I am worried that AVB doesn't see this?
