Don't want to sound negative, but if all injuries that we have had tonight turn out to be long term injuries, then I would much rather use some 'kids' to play away against Basel and to possibly blend in the first team quickly. Before tonight I wanted to win Europa because I thought we had the squad to get 4th aswell. But now.. Not so sure.

What made you believe that?? That's a serious questions, not being sarcastic.

Bae needs to really buck up his ideas, looking very poor defensively at the moment, looking disinterested.

Verts had a bad game but has been good overall.

Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal all with games in hand over us.

Top 4 looking very distant now.

It's fine guys.

Andros Townsend is still fit and in good form.

Seriously, can he be recalled?

Yes. We needed to give ourselves the best chance of making CL, our future depends on it much more than the EL at this juncture i.e. having AVB, all the publicity over Bale's form and what he's done to lift the profile of your club even higher around the world, new training ground etc, new stadium coming. All of these things have converged at a perfect moment for us to qualify for CL and bring in a couple of stonking players to properly bring us into the big time. And, of course, keep bale.

That is where our focus should have been. We. Have. Not. Got. The. Resources. To. Do. both.

Look, we disagree and you're boring me, so let's just agree to disagree.

so how the heck are we going to cope with the premier league and the much tougher champions league??

Ahh ok is that right? 4k less just for banners?
Dunno. In that ballpark though I think. I remember there being a few thousand knocked off the attendances when we got into the CL for example. The first time I'd ever heard about it tbh. Someone started a thread because a mate of theirs - could well have been a Spam mate at that - was taking the piss out of thousands of empty seats for a CL match which, was patent bollocks obviously. Any seat that could be taken was so. It's not like we'd been waiting 50 yrs for the chance or anything.

Watching it on the goggle box anyway, there certainly weren't blocks of empty seats or even visible little clusters. Looked pretty dang full to me.

Only positive is Everton are without Fellaini and Pineaar and they can be got at.

Then after Basel we have a 10 day rest before our next game due to Chelsea game being re-arranged.

*Prays and hopes* Bale just misses them 2 games

You know I really hope we do with Europa and get 4th now just to spite you. I had know-it-all negative fans. It's so easy to take that stance. You know what I'm certain we'll finish 6th. We're shit. We'll definitely come sixth. Now if that happens I can call everyone else dumb and if it doesn't I can go "ah fuck it sure I'm happy now".

At least the Chelsea game was re-scheduled.

We need a couple of games to work out a system to play without Bale.
