Ever based at larkhill ?

Regarding the itk.... Wouldn't be too fussed if ade went but I'd prefer to keep him over Defoe even though I said the exact opposite a couple of months ago.

Was there 1968 - 1969 then went to Hong Kong, then was there again 1974 for Gunnery Staff Course

Are you an ex Gunner, (The real one)?

Can we try to have a modicum of sensibility here please. Adebayor has played for us for two season, in one he was excellent and a vital part of us finishing fourth, in the other he made us into a better team when he played and started hitting form as the season finished. This season even with a misfiring Ade, we weren't a mile off Utd (in January) and languish down in 12th so don't act like that is what playing Ade will do to us next season. If you want to make a prediction take a look at the results when he played and at least be fair.

There are not a lot of striker better than Adebayor. Yes the likes of Messi, Lewandowski, Ronaldo, Cavani, Van Persie, Falcao are better but seriously, how many people can sensibly suggest 5 strikers that are better than Adebayor that we could realistically could buy? Some 19 year old German kid playing in Germany's second division is not going to be a better option than Adebayor. If we can get two of Leandro/Saldado/Benteke and one of Villa/PEA/Son then excellent, we can consider letting Ade move on, until then we can't afford to weaken ourselves.

So how about we don't act like Children and cry about how shit Ade is a remember that finding a better striker than him is not easy. Also for those who are going to start posting abut Berbatov there is no evidence that he would have come back or that he and his agent could have come to a workable agreement with Levy who was f**ked over big time by them.

Good post.

Anyone speak Italian? Gazzetta has a piece today that appears to be on Roma's meeting with Baldini et al yesterday, but Google translate isn't super helpful.

http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Squad...a-baldini-resta-giallorosso-20439092571.shtml

In English:
Rome, Pallotta: "We will win the Italian Cup. Baldini It remains the Giallorossi"

Milan, May 23, 2013

Ok president of the Giallorossi: Allegri to go up bonuses. "It 's all in the hands of Sabatini and Baldini"

Derby Cup, coach, club, stadium and expectations. The agenda of Pallotta from here early next week is thick, including tomorrow's visit to the Quirinal, know where the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano. First, though, try to permanently unlock some situations, starting right from that relating to Allegri.
BETWEEN RIVERS AND MAX - In the dinner on Wednesday with Baldini and Sabatini, Pallotta gave the nod to increase the variable part (bonus) contract Allegri (there was even a phone call to convince him), bringing the offer to almost equalize the employment (2.8 million euro) perceived to Milan. Roma are believed to have in hand the yes and just waiting for Allegri resolve his situation. "The new coach? Know Doc Rivers (the coach of the Boston Celtics, which Pallotta is one of the owners, editor's note )? Coming him - jokes about Pallotta -. With Allegri have not spoken, it's all in the hands of Sabatini and Baldini " . The situation you can unlock the next week, perhaps after the Italian Cup.
DERBY - Yeah, the Italian Cup (police worried about the open sale and possible mixture between fans), the lifeline and yellow. "We're going to win," he said in the morning the president. What then added: "We want a great future and you can start from this cup. Expectation is electrifying. I can not wait to see this show."
BALDINI - Pallotta, however, must also solve certain company, starting with the future of Baldini. "I for one will remain. I have yet to speak to us, but Franco I like."

some encouraging words from Benteke today in belgian newspaper: He 'wants a solution where all parties are getting better from. I won't agree easily on having to stay at Aston Villa. I don't want to have any regrets that I haven't made the most out of my career. Of course I am also thinking about the WC in Brazil, but I am not afraid to drop out of the starting XI for Belgium. I will decide with my family where my future lies.' His agent said there won't be any decision before the Belgium - Serbia game on 7/6.

He's aiming for a move. Thought I'd share with you guys. Would love him in our shirt.

This is how the Standard sees it/translates this I guess...

Spurs target Franco Baldini 'will be staying at Roma'

tom.collomosse.sml.png
23 May 2013
Roma's owners are determined to keep Franco Baldini at the club as Tottenham explore the possibility of making the Italian their new director of football.
Standard Sport revealed yesterday that Baldini, director general at Roma, would be meeting the Serie A club’s president James Pallotta to discuss his own future and the club’s plans for next season.
“As far as I’m concerned, Franco is staying,” said Pallotta after today’s discussions. “We still need to talk about it in detail but I like Franco.”
Baldini remains Tottenham’s No1 target for the role, which would create a bridge between the boardroom and the coaching staff led by Andre Villas-Boas, who shares a friendship with Baldini.
It is believed that Spurs have yet to examine seriously other options for the position and that they still remain optimistic about luring Baldini.
Villas-Boas had a fruitful relationship with Antero Henrique during his time at FC Porto and he believes changing the management structure at Tottenham will enable the club to be more successful in the transfer market.
It is possible that Baldini will offer to leave Roma after the Italian Cup Final against city rivals Lazio on Sunday, although he is also involved in trying to bring in a new manager. Massimiliano Allegri, currently in charge of AC Milan, is the favourite for the job.
Meanwhile, Tottenham continue to plan for next season and Scott Parker is optimistic that they can be even stronger in the 2013-14 campaign.
Tottenham missed out on Champions League qualification despite achieving their record points total in the Premier League era but Parker believes Spurs should set their sights even higher next term.
“I don’t know what the chairman’s plans are, or the manager’s, but maybe with a couple of signings, you never know,” said the England midfielder. “We’ve got a fantastic squad here and if we can add that little bit more in terms of our mentality, you never know what might happen.
“When we look back at the season just gone, we think that if we’d picked up a couple of points here and there then we could really have pushed the top teams.”

There's not really anything important in it that Google translate has missed - Pallotta the Chairman expects him to stay at Roma, but is still to speak to him (?) is how I interpreted that end bit.
