"There is a contact between Atletico Madrid and Osvaldo's entourage to bring the Roma's player in Madrid to replace Falcao"

Would clear the competition on Leandro though if true, with rumours Athletico are also interesting in him

Although Palmieri is a total bullshitter I can see Osvaldo going to Spain and Atletico would be a good option.

Roma want to sell Tottenham target “at all costs”

Italian international set to depart the Eternal City this summer.

Tottenham target Pablo Osvaldo is available for transfer this summer, after Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed Roma are trying to get rid of the striker “at all costs”.
De Laurentiis has revealed he initially enquired about Roma pair Marquinhos and Erik Lamela, with a view to signing the young duo for €40m.

“I offered them €40m.

However, after his approach was rebuffed by Unicredit, an Italian bank who own a share in the Giallorossi, he revealed additional transfer news that is likely to alert Tottenham.
“I contacted Unicredit directly for Lamela and Marquinhos,” he told Radio Marte as reported by football-italia.net.
“Instead, they offered me the services of Pablo Daniel Osvaldo at all costs, but, seeing as we have Edinson Cavani right now, we don’t need him.”
That situation could of course change this summer, with Cavani tipped for a move to either Real Madrid or the Premier League, although both the player and club have suggested that he could yet stay in Naples another year.
However, more specifically, it is clear that Roma will not be best pleased with De Laurentiis’ revelation which will undoubtedly weaken their standing in any dealings over their Italian striker.
Osvaldo has had various run-ins during his time at the club, both with the fans over indiscipline on the pitch and with former coaches. However, he has maintained an impressive goal-scoring record during his time in the Italian capital, and as a result has attracted interest across Europe.

Tottenham are monitoring numerous striking options this summer, but it would appear that the 27-year-old could be a realistic target.

Could be available for a low price then, I read about the Roma fans turning on him, so thats maybe why.

I can't make any sense of that report whatsoever. Anyone care to make me feel even more stupid, please?

Have re read it.

Napoli wanted the 2 good Roma players, but instead of going to Roma directly went to the investment company that owns part of them/Roma to try and negotiate.

The company said no you can't have them, but you can have Osvaldo who we are desperate to shift (at all costs!).

This won't make Roma happy themselves - bad publicity I guess.

Hopefully will drive down price.

Naturally this means Spurs will be interested once more (of course - we're interested in anyone with 2 legs - especially if cheap!).

What will Baldini say?

2+2 = 5?

Thanks guys. I'm guessing that Osvaldo must be a bit of a dick or something? Not often we hear a club say they're "desperate" to get rid of someone.

Well, he's got a reputation as a BadBoy, but I think it has more to do with the Roma fans turning up to a training session and demanding Osvaldo, and Baldini leave. Once the fans have turned, theres no way back really.

Thanks mate. Is Osvaldo the guy who punched one of his team-mates? Or something like that....

Don't know much about him as a player but he sounds like a bit of a nutter. I'm sure I read he was on twitter calling his manager a twat or something. He's 27 so that tells me his attitude is there to stay, which makes him a risky signing for me.

Every team needs an asshole or two, somebody with some fire and grit to drive the team forward. So the question becomes, is Osvaldo a John Terry style asshole who is just a flat out douche, or is he a Craig Bellamy asshole, who's a dick, but by god he's your dick!?

We could use the latter style (assuming there's only one in the squad).

Why would any professional footballer opt for Italy with the massive 'dark cloud of uncertainty' that's currently floating over it's head?

The "desperate to get rid" is a very common statement when associated with one Emmanuel Adebayor!

it seems that he is like a trouble maker, so it could be a good thing that he never arrives at the lane
