Seems like people have written Bale off for next season, I don't think it's that clear cut just yet.

All this speculation is doing my head in. Just make a fucking decision and let us get on with it. I hate indecisive people. :D

And now for something slightly different...
*AHEM*

Bale if you've got to go away
I don't think I can take the pain
Won't you stay another game
Oh don't leave us alone like this
Please take it back, we won't boo or hiss
Won't you stay another gaaaaammmee

Don't you know
We've come too far now
Just to go
And try to throw it all away
Thought I heard you say
You love us
That your love was gonna be here to stay
I've only just begun
To know you
All I can say is
Won't you stay just one more gaaaaammeeee

Bit of an emo post but I was watching Sky Sports news and it showed some highlights of Bale from when he 1st signed as a youngster to some cracking goals last season.

I got that funny feeling inside, he is just such a special player. So so important to us and I don't think any player can replace him. When I hear him or watch his celebrations I honestly get the impression he loves Spurs. I wish we were all he wanted as a club :(

I'll be delighted if Bale stays. But I'm mentally prepared for him going now.

I think that's the best stance to adopt - personally speaking.

Yeah, but Bale is prem proven and younger.

So? Why do people hold weight with this notion of "prem proven" who the fuck cares. If a player is good, he is just that. Good. :) Messi isn't prem proven, but the man who succeed anywhere. :D

Same here, I want him to stay, am prepared for him to go, but if it is so, demand that Levy is decisive and aggressive in reinvesting in the squad.

Yeah I agree, but in comparison to Kaka I think it's valid. Teams here would be cautious of him because he's a bit of an unknown quantity. If Bale flops at Madrid there'd be plenty of teams here willing to take him.

See i'm not prepared for him to go - i still don't accept it. I still have a "fk you" mentality towards RM.

i'm not going to mentally weaken on this, and will be hurt if he goes regardless of fee.

Personally think he'll stay but if he does go I'll wish him the best and hope he tears it up in Spain.

It'll be disappointing to lose him, should he move, but we will move on. Just as we did when we lost Carrick, Berbatov and Modric. I have full faith that Levy, Baldini and AVB will do us right on the long run.

As I say, though, I personally think he stays 1 more year.

Agreed. I'm also mentally prepared for underwhelming signings as a result of the Bale money. The mood is depressing here at the moment and this is when people think we might be signing Lamela, Suarez, Di Maria, Hulk - going to be carnage when this does not happen.

Options:

1) we should be doing everything in our power to keep him for one more season.

2) if we concede to letting him go now; aggressively reinvest in the squad - and quickly, for obvious reasons.

3) sell him now, try to make moves over the next four weeks...and get nowhere due to ridiculous inflated prices, fucking about on deadline day to be left gobsmacked at being led down the garden path once again off the back of selling the best player we've had in years.

It just can't be option 3. I think we'd all go frigging bonkers if that happens.

I think option 3 is a genuine possiblity. Levy has previous. How many summer transfer windows have ended in disappointment?

One of the main reasons I think it can't be options 3 is...PSG. If AVB turned down their untold riches and CL to stay with us, then he MUST have been given certain reassurances. Like not fucking up another window.

Really don't think we will move on if we sell Bale, at best I think we'd stand still, which would mean next summer us having to put up with teams tapping up the likes of Lloris, Sandro and Vertonghen.

We just seem to be stuck in a vicious circle at the moment and if we are to ever break that circle, move on and progress, then we have to keep our top players.

I'm sure he was given reassurances last window too. Paulinho was given assurances that Bale would be staying.
