You need to have 8 players in a squad of 25 who have played 3 full seasons or 36 months before their 21st birthday at an English (or Cardiff or Swansea) club. Essentially you can't have more than 17 players who are over the age of 21 and foreign scum is what the rule is. After that, none of their bisniz.

Currently we have 14 and that includes Brad. If Ade and Benny are sold, we'd have 12 so room for 5 more. :)
So we don't HAVE to have 8 homegrown players in the squad? It just limits our overall squad size if we don't?

:wacky: Kinda get what you're saying and our yoof products will hopefully be the squad replacements in future yrs and maybe grow into regular first teamers but as far as new signings go - first team signings, I'll never ever be disappointed with a £15m player.
I said only:)

Is it true that he had a trial with Man Utd in May?

and, also, a weird question.. is it also true that he is partially deaf?

None of this is true.

He is definitely not deaf :).

At the age of 10 he was invited at Messina FC, at the age of 16 (already in in the U17 national team) he was invited to join Brescia, Italy but refused. Recently he has been followed by Leeds, Newcastle, Betis, Stuttgart and Rostov (Russia). The only real offer was from Werder Bremen, but it was declined (2.2 mio. Euro)

Watched his team v stuttgart a few weeks ago. I don't remember him, but then not a single player who started that night stood out for mine, so here's hoping he had a seriously off night or didn't play. Of course the amount of beers might have hindered my recollection.

THE SPURS CONTINUE TO REINFORCE
The Tottenham to Nedelev

  • The English team closes another signing to strengthen the squad before the start of Bale formalize
  • The player will cost around six million euros2
English and Bulgarian media and take it for granted. Tottenham continued wearing out the money expected to be received from the sale of Bale strengthen the squad and is Bulgarian Todor chosen Nedelev.
Nedelev is one of the brightest pearls of Bulgarian football. At just 20 years and has been capped 56 times for his country in which he has scored 15 goals. His best weapon is his shot and his ability to give the final pass.
The transfer will be encrypted at around six million euros, disbursed Tottenham his current team, the Botev Plovdiv. The talented midfielder scored nine goals and dished out twelve assists with this set last season.
So far this season and has four goals in four games and three more goals in the preliminary stage of the Europa League, so they come in a fantastic run of form at White Hart Lane club.

56 caps at the age of 20???? Surely this can't be correct?

Any more news on this at all?
Yes, I just checked - there is some news: The DOF of Greuther Fürth (a German team in second Bundesliga) said that they are very interested in Nedelev. So, we would have competition on that front.

Also, a Bulgarian sports newspaper listed two options for Nedelev, if he signs:
a) He gets loaned out to Botev (his club) until the end of the season.
b) He gets loaned out to Leeds.

Obviously, take it with a bucket of salt, they could very well be making this up.

There is one thing which I don't quite understand though: As a fellow countryman mentioned before, the level of the Bulgarian league is very, very low. So usually, when foreign scouts from bigger teams in England, France, Germany etc. come to watch a player, this makes it in the news.
However, I haven't seen anything on Nedelev being scouted from last season (and the Bulgarian league has just started). So where could have Tottenham scouted Nedelev? Are they interested solely (or at least mostly) based on video footage?

Personally i think this guy is the most like for like player to replace G Bale (watched the videos)......Should Bale moves on to RM. I think potentially he can be a monster wing forward player. Wonder this 1 year, he still can grow slightly taller?.....
