DiMarzio says that Lamela deal not done. Roma asking 35m euro today and we stand at 30m euro but its not ends of the negotiation.Keeping the actual rumour aside, a serious question ...
Are we over bidding/paying for likes of Lamela & Willian.
One thing I can see is while we may over the odds to get the player, we are not overpaying on wages.
Lamela seems to be on 25k a week at Roma. Seems we would go to 50k a week. I mean considering Parker was (rumoured to be ) on 70k a week, a extra couple of transfer million makes sense.
Frankly, I am more happy we have got Willian. Lamela while being great potential, I am still not sold on him given a couple of feedback I received from my Italian friends. Lamela is seen as a near liability without the ball & often exposes right back. But the positive thing is he is learning and compensates with his dribbling attacking ability. Given we would have some more retrievers like Capoue, Paulinho, Sandro and players to hold possession like Dembele & Willian, may be the XI can afford a luxury player like lamela.
Who knows. Lets hope Bale stays ; If not Lamela is not a bad option given the potential.

Oh, FFS! We have signed 4! All indications good for Willian but not officially completed yet, and you said it yourself "would have = not done yet" Why scrutinize and interpret everything to death? Rely on actual facts instead of spinning a head carousel. And people Wonder why the club is tight in statements to the media? Everything is obviously getting twisted... *sigh*

And we can always sell him to Real Madrid for another £100 million in few years time.
Maybe another reason why can get these players, as they have the ability to only get better and demand a higher transfer fee... and another reason we don't need to sell Bale.

I kid, there seems to be a lot happening all of a sudden.
My take on it is Willian will be announced tomorow, Lamela deal is being set up and if Real can prove they have the funds/agree a deal Bale will be done by end of week... If that happens we get Lamela in. If not we keep Bale and give Real the middle finger.

As a reader of SC for years today has been insanely good. As an older fan I am genuinely excited by this season, all the ITK and this site helps fuel the passion for the club. Bobby S, Paul, Nacer, Big Man and now Willy apparently... Who would have thought it. Coys
