Yes but it's using one player more

Unfortunately with how good Bale is, you're never gonna get just 1 replacement that will come in and replace what he did last year.

Soldado, Chadli, Paulinho, Lamela and another AM (Eriksen) in my opinion will definitely have more goals and creatvity to last season.
Capoue signing and the potential of Coentrau signing added to the return of Kaboul and Sandro will make us more solid and conceed less than last season.

All in all, we will have a better squad overall in my opinion, with a right balance to it.

i'm uneducated because i think paulinho wouldn't get in ahead of sandro, dembele and bale? why?

What you need to consider is Paulinho and Capoue's ability to enable Dembele to actually play with more freedom and be more creative, without as much defensive/midfield responsibility. That, my friend, is how they improve the team. There were times where Dempsey was the guy out on the left last season - Chadli improves that balance already.

You can't simply look at it as player vs player, that's not how it works, or how it's going to work.

Paulinho seems a genuinely nice guy - sort of players we want at the club. Humbled.

On a sidenote; I had an initial thought we're trying to sanction the Bale and Lamela deals at the same time. Due to the Willian saga. However, with it now apparent we still haven't accepted a Bale deal and how close we were apparently to signing Willian. Would everyone agree perhaps DL isn't scared potentially of ending up with his replacements before he knows definitely Bale's valuation will be met? Just worried if we wait on them to meet Bale's valuation we're going to lose out on Lamela.

My impression was DL was waiting on Willian/Lamela/Whoever before giving the final nod on Bale deal so the loss of Bale would be softened by seeiung great new signings at the same time, not because we are waiting for the RM cash before we spend. Think it's about PR not cash flow.

Paulinho sounds like a great bloke and also I think he is going to be a real star for us - always looking for a goal...

As long as he is replaced as suggested and THEN goes, I could live with that.

Not the other way around.

I agree, aslong as he's replaced, which will happen in my opinion. Wouldn't bother me though, if Bale was announced today, Lamela Monday and Eriksen Wednesday. For me, aslong as we have the replacements signed by Arsenal is fine with me.

Tough being a football player! I read a few months back, he has a house there. I would not read too much into it. RM still not shown their green yet?! They're desperate. I just hope Levy knows that.

if he is not moving he should be at the match tomorrow showing his support

sadly he wont be

For fucksake, this is the ITk thread, not the squad depth thread, take it elsewhere. Such a shame the ratings are off, else there'd be an abundance of spam reps being passed around.

There will now be a short interlude while I go and remove the access of the dullards who think they can take the piss.

Meanwhile here's something for you to chew on:

Cassandra was condemned to know the future but to be disbelieved when she foretold it. Hence the agony of foreknowledge combined with the impotence to do anything about it.

We're told how everything is played out via ITK, yet disbelieve it until it's official? Quote from Twelve Monkeys, so only thing I can think of is it relates to Bale, but not sure how or why.

I think we need to get past this 'replacing Bale like for like'... There's a reason Real are about to pay circa £90m, that's because there aren't many players like him out there. If we wanted to replace like for like, we'd have to pay a fee like for like. What we have to do, is identify a player a year or two behind Bale development wise, with a value likewise, but a similar ceiling in terms of potential... The club feel Lamela could be this player. He would also cost, reportedly, approximately 1/3rd the Bale fee, meaning we can strengthen other areas we are a bit fragile.
We got labelled a one man team last year, I don't think that'll be the case this year (obviously not if that one man has gone), because we'll have greater strength in depth. 'The whole is greater than the sum of its parts' I believe the saying goes.
Some people also need to get past this 'first eleven' mindset, as over the course of a season, in four competitions, the days we'll field out so called 'first eleven' will be few and far between. We need a squad, so when players are out for whatever reason, we have no drop off in terms of ability coming in. Last year, without Sandro and Dembele, we were left with Parker and Hudd/Livernore in CM. This year we will have Paulinho and Capoue, anyone else seeing clear the upgrade here.
Right, onto the ITK, or lack thereof today it appears. Yesterday we had talk of Chiriches, good news if true, that's one weak area strengthened. Ekotto may or may not pass a medical, but I have faith Coentrao will be convinced to join the party once that is resolved, again giving us an upgrade and a younger player at that, no less experienced though.

there is no doubt our squad is much stonger this season , so far all the additions have looked good , paulinho looks very comfortable alongside dembele and will score 10 plus this year , chadli has the ability but needs to sharpen up and get up with the pace of the game but has huge potential , capoue looks great and has a real good awareness which will help our defence no end and when sandro is fit then our df midfield is in good hands , as for soldado in two mins he has show us what a goal poacher really is he comes alive in the box and his ability to find space is what we have been crying out for , its just a shame we wont get to see bale play with these players as we really would set the league on fire ..............daydreaming again sighhhhhh
