Lennon's stats are from a different playing style. It's pretty clear we're evolving in to something different. If AVB decides he doesn't fit, i'm ok with the decision to let him go.

I like Lennon but can also see his limitations. I'd like him to stay but he may have to settle for less pitch time. I think there is a good possibility that we may be looking at letting him go if we get Lamela. The same for Siggy if we get Eriksen. Just a calculated opinion.

I don't know I'm not a scout. I trust our scouts, AVB and Baldini to know what they're doing more than a bunch of guys tapping away on a forum. If it's decided he'll be sold, I trust a decent replacement will be found. I just don't understand the uproar at the moment. We've upgraded a lot of players so far this window, why shouldn't we look to upgrade Lennon also? I'll understand if people don't agree with the replacement, but we have no idea who that is yet.

What if we get a world class replacement in and it's him and Chadli that get rotated on the left, would that not be a squad improvement?

Sorry but that's a lame response, you can say that about anyone. 'Oh let's sell Vertonghen because I'm not a scout but I trust our scouts and AVB that if we do sell him they'll bring someone else in better'. But would you still not defend that we should keep Vertonghen?

Time may prove me wrong but as it stands I'd rather have Lennon than Chadli, even though I know they primarily play on different wings. All in all though, the reason why we're disagreeing probably just simply comes down to me rating Lennon more than you.

Yep, quite probably.

Pace is great but no good if you can't score goals or create chances in his position. Any idea on his goal and assist stats? I assume not great.

Easily take the money for him, if true.

Yes I do know his stats, you are welcome to look them up yourself of course, will you be including the chances created but missed by wasteful strikers and therefore not in usual stats?

I haven't said don't take the money, just that he is worth more than a paltry £10 million. We don't know what the bid is so don't know if it's worth taking.

Totenham is a business and you don't give away business assets, you get the best price for them. As a buying club you offer less than a player is worth and hope to get him for less than you actually value him at.

I agree but what do you/we value lennon at?

I would easily sell him at 10m. You and others may disagree but that is cool as we are all spurs fans.

That is the subjective question.

I mentioned previously I'd want £15 million and talk at £12 million. We got £5.5 million for Huddlestone who can't even get a game. You could therefore argue our fringe players are around the £6/7 million mark therefore a regular starter double that.

Not the way to work out a fee I agree but I use it to show we shouldn't under sell a player like Lennon who plays every week for a top 5 side.

Chadli was £7 million from a lower league, Lennon is a proven Premier League player and English to help a teams home grown quota. £3 million between them doesn't look right. The further forward you go in a team the more expensive the players get generally.

But why sell him? It is a squad game and he would be brilliant from the bench and in cup games.

lennon should be at spurs for the rest of his career. i don't believe he'll get many starts but there's no one better to bring on after 65 mins to take the last bit out of a tiered lb.

Mate who lives in Cardiff and is a Cardiff fan says he's hearing this from his side of things too...

Cant see him getting much playing time this season so personally wouldn't be too fussed if he goes

We need him. I prefer sell Gylfi, no Lennon.

Need him ? Running is the only thing he is good at. It has been long time since we have had a decent right wing.
He is useless and more suitable for mid table clubs, if we get more than 7 mil for him we would be lucky.

Bonkers if we sell.
We cant keep buying players without trimming the squad and recouping some money.
It's not always about who we want to sell as much as who we get offers for.
eg. we wanted rid of Bentley for 2 years, but no one wanted to buy him so he ended up being released.
Had Townsend not shown he can ct it, then I dont think we would be listening to offers, but Townsend is younger on a cheaper contract, and I cannot remember when Lennon last got though a full season without being out for a month.

My problem with this, as someone pointed out, would be if Lennon went and Sigurdsson stayed. Different players yes but ultimately both playing in one of those wide/attacking midfield positions and Sigurdsson is not fit to lace Lennon's boots. People are being kind because he (Sig) tries but i think deep down we all know he is nowhere near the required standard. Also thought we really lacked pace yesterday.

Well, I could see something happening like we sell Lennon but bring on a guy like Atsu. Granted, they play different positions, but Atsu is an out-and-out winger at this point in his career (still too raw to be a wide forward) and he is seemingly available for a pretty cheap fee. Lennon's purpose on this squad is to inject pace into the side and to send in crosses. In my opinion, it doesn't really matter what side that's coming from and it's more likely we would utilize a true LW than a RW given we might have Lamela over there.

Is it crazy to think we might switch Lennon for Atsu to perform as our winger to keep the width/impact sub off the bench to inject some pace?

Couldn't disagree more. Siggy is an AMC who was asked to play wide left by our manager for some reason. And just because he didn't set the world on fire from a new position, it is time to give up on him? He's still the same guy who had 7 goals and 4 assists in 18 games just 18 months ago. At least give him an extended run in his natural position before declaring him an utter failure.

If a half wit like Brenton Rodgers can get that production out of him, surely AVB can too. I'd rather give him a chance to fail instead of selling him early and watching him thrive at a club like Liverpool.

Anyway, Lennon should stay but agree he's too comfortable. He was up for it when Bentley was brought in so let's see if he still has the passion and is willing to fight for it now too.
