Hmmm, my glimmer of hope that he may stay has gone. Just get lamela in and ship bale out ASAP. I would normally dismiss ssn sources, but to be fair they were bang on with willian and moutinho. Ok plenty of mistakes too, but it's obvious agents contact them direct to send out messages so I actually believe them this time.

They're not twisting the facts are they? Sensationalising would be saying that he's not turning up because he's about to get on a plane to Madrid.
Errrr... Sensationalising would be making a sensation of it. You know, by building it up a lot - like they are.
Saying he is getting on a plane to Madrid would be "lying" - easy to confuse the two with SSN, I know!

I've gotta say I didnt expect this from Bale, just goes to show he doesnt care about the fans or the Club that made him what he is today. It's heartbreaking tbh, first faking injury, now refusing to train. He was always going to get the move to Madrid, and if he would have conducted himself in the proper way he could have left as a Legend. Hope Levy slaps the biggest fine possible on him.

The thing is that SSN are absolutely loving this right now! Pulling in everyone to watch & getting their ratings through the roof! They will always over-exaggerate transfer stories, a bit like Talksport, to ensure that viewer figures are higher than ever! Just look at them on Transfer Deadline Day, its an absolute mad house & yet about 12 transfers actually happen!

Why are people playing this down? AVB has said he should be at training today and it's clear he's not. Don't see why a reporter outside the ground would lie about that?

In all honesty, Bales a bit of a prick and acting like a spoilt brat

And the reporter did say that they were given the info on the "three F's" from someone very close to the Bale camp, which is clearly going to be Barnett or someone who works for him.

Everyone's just up in arms because Sky are saying something they don't want to hear.

Not really.

They've (like most over this saga) veered wildly between different massively contradictory stories. Like a Pilot flying a plane on a seesaw whilst hopped up on goofballs.

I completely blame the club for this. Once again we have failed to make public announcements of intent and dragged our heels.

Suarez, not for sale, get on with it.

Rooney, not for sale, get.on with it.

Bale, ERM, you can leave, but we will wait until we get a proper offer, and we probably won't, so then you have to stay, but we might change our mind again....

Been here before.

Set the stall out. Real, you have 3 days to come up with the goods or the transfer is off and we are happy to keep the player. This all says to me that the ITk on no deal is in place, is correct. Because if he knew he was going in one week or two, he wouldn't be a prick.

Mind you....I've bunked off when working my notice.....

So predictable. MADRID have told him too play up, so the fee can be reduced. This lad will lose all credibility at a rapid rate of knots. We must not back down.

But that is their job isn't it? Sensationalist Sports News with the added pressure of being a rolling 24hr channel with time to fill.

People can't criticise Sky Sports News, it is what it is, it isn't CNBC or CNN or BBC Parliament.

They have had news leaked to them about the biggest transfer in history and the number one story of the transfer window and people are surprised and disgusted that they are going over the top. WTF?

The only thing I would say is. We don't know what was promised to him if anything. Maybe he feels we've breached a verbal agreement.

Bottom line is we know next to nothing. So castigating the player is probably a bit premature

Just spawned this fiendish plan in the transfer thread:
"Perhaps we should open talks re Bale with ManU (and other interested PL clubs) just to distract them from other targets until we land Lamela? After we land Lamela we tell them to fuck off. Would be a nice Joorabchianesque move. ;)"

Maybe we are trying to scare Chelsea into selling us Mata by selling Bale to Man Utd and basically handing them the title.

I have to say it looks like spurs are not budging with the valuation.

Madrid will need to pay up or move on....

This is Levytime........

Could not agree more. I have lost respect for him completely and despite everything he did last year I won't remember him fondly in the future despite being able to recognise his huge ability and contribution. Unfortunatley he has gone the same way as Modric and Berbatov..

Oddly, Neville was talking about the Rooney transfer and saying that Manyoo need to hold firm and stick to the fact that they have said he is not for sale to prove that they stand by their word. Unfortunately, we have buckled every time in the past (OK, we held onto Modric for one more season...) and so everyone (Bale included) expects the same to happen here.

I just hope that Levy and AVB have been straight with him all along and can come out of this able to say we were 100% fair and honest. If there was a shady, back room agreement that we would sell him and now we are dicking him about, that is another matter.

I guess it really depends on whether we need to sell and if Lamela/Hulk & others are dependent on Bale going. If we don't then we just set our price. If it's not matched then he doesn't go and the more unprofessional he is the more he doesn't get paid, simple.

We shouldn't react though. Its what the Bale camp and Madrid probably want. If all the fans start abusing Bale for his behaviour and vocally stating that we want him out it weakens our board's position and strengthens Madrid's position.

Its another tactic to weaken our position with regards to the deal.
