alot of the obvious criticism is made largely irrelevant until our recent signings have actually trained with the squad. I mean by the that our lack of teeth up front and going forward.

Less easy to excuse is that fact that they won almost every 50/50 ball throughout the game, but im going to be generous and suggest the intensity of the derby to have come as a surprise to the new boys.

Hi guys first post.

Just wanted to say that WOW the bashing on this thread really suprised me.

The 3rd game of the season with 5 new players in the team and a hell of a bashing

Yes I was underwhelmed by Dembele and Walker but come on.

The squad just needs more time to form a team. Pretty sure if the NLD had a few games beforehand the result would have been different.

The bashing will reflect badly only on you. Try for some optimism. I like Erik. I like him. I luuuvvvvv him.

Anyway we can win 5-2 at WHL so no worries heeheee. Cheers(y)
Trouble was, the old players were the worst ones

Where is the passion tho?? The will to win such a big game?? Carve out a simple chance?? Giving everything they have?? Regardless of how long they have played together, have you seen any of that today form any of them?? Surely you can at least show some passion, pride and a will to do well in a game?? No??
I repeat. It's virtually their first time playing together. Especially in NLD. Give the guys some slack. In time, I'm sure they will get a sense of the occassion. We will become the better team. IN TIME. Most Arse players hate us. Half our team haven't yet developed that passion. Good grief people.

We had an opportunity to put Holtby on instead of Dembele at HT especially when Wheelchair went off.

Instead we've got the Portuguese Harry Redknapp who prefers to play 4-4-2 with two midgets up front.

I like AVB but that was the most fucking stupid thing he could have done, Koscielny had Soldado in his pocket all game so we needed someone to create space for him by picking the ball up in between the lines.

The overall performance was crap anyway, we looked slow attacking and defending and the balance was off we need to sort out the balance in midfield, if we had a creator in there with Paulinho alternating his attacks and Capoue protecting the back four it would have given Wheelchair and Ramsey something to think about but we played right into their hands.

Only good to come from this is LLoris who was yet again superb.

Totally pissed off cause they, like always, were there for the taking.

Now we got a fucking two week break until we play again, please get Holtby or Erikson to start against Norwich because our creative nous is non existent.

Occasionally you get freak results like this, just a shame it happened against that lot. One mistake has cost us but I saw enough to know we're better than them. Liverpool are more of a danger this season IMO.

I'm sure we'll see the standard Dawson/Walker slagging but the clear issue but the midfield was a real let down at both ends. Letting the Arse midfield repeatedly run straight through and offering very little cover and a most ponderous attacking display you'll evr see.

Dembele needs dropped for Holtby/Eriksen.
Don't know why people are slagging off Rose, I thought it was a pretty legit performance from him. There really wasn't anything between him and Walcott and on the goal, Dawson played Walcott onside by sticking w/ Giroud instead of holding the line.

More to the point, Dembele shouldn't play as a 10. He's just not aware enough of what's going on around him. He can do a good job as one of the sitting two though

Chadli looks like he has potential but he dosn't appearer to be anywhere near good enough at the moment.

Anyone feeling suicidal, just look at the 3 players we bought off the bench today. There is no way, given time, this team will not improve and grow.

We conceded late because he kept subbing Sandro for Livermore at the 75th min, I don't care what anyone says, that was the reason we conceded late early in the season, and it was fixed when he stopped taking Sandro off for Livermore, not because Andre adjusted the training complexity late on.

The reason we were conceding late on was not because of one player - whats more Sandro missed half the season and we didn't have any further problems conceding after......

I agree with Kaz, Arse anal were hanging on for dear life, fighting tooth and nail for every ball. Full merit to them for doing so and they showed on several occasions they wanted it more than we did.
I had hoped for a draw at least but know that many lessons will be have been learnt from this game, particularly for the new guys exposed to the frenzy of a North London derby.

Holtby is a natural #10. Why he didn't play at all is a mystery. Surely AVB could see that we could play for another 90 minutes and not score.

Why not bring him on?

If you pay £26m for a striker then you adapt your game to suit him, we are not creating a fucking thing for him right now BUT i believe thats about to change, or i hope it is.

We havent created a fucking thing for our strikers since 2011 in all honesty

This time last year, our defending was appalling and we were consistently conceding late - AVB sorted it.....

Now, we have a new bunch of players, and we need to work on our teamwork and forward play - AVB will sort it!
Ding ding ding! Winner winner chicken dinner.

Parker played, not Livermore.

Go back and watch those games, literally the second Sandro went off we were pinned in our own box.
