The better team won.

All eyes on Levy...back the manager and stop with this nonsense.
Not sure I agree with continued backing of this manager, but definitely back the team. Sadly not the case yesterday. I started going to Spurs almost 60 years ago and I cannot recall our fans being so quiet in a NLD at home. Heh, we've even got a stand that is designed to enhance the sound from the fans. Through thick and thin- No way!

I have mixed feelings about Conte. I hate the negative way his teams play and just long for Spurs to be attacking and exciting again. I also dislike the continual talk about whether he will stay. Spurs is a great job and I want a manager who is fully committed to us in the long term.
With these reservations I can see a situation where we back him with money for new players (to play in his negative system) and are then left high and dry when he moves on, as he invariably does. Not a good situation.

He cost us in the Newcastle game too & nearly in the Leeds games.

He’s simply a huge liability who needs replacing asap.
It is a question of who we replace him with. We have bought a lot of duffers in recent years and I don’t want another. We need quality.

Question for you. When have we EVER backed the manager.

Conte is no mug he knows exactly what it takes to win. Playing attacking football and not winning we've been down that road many time before . We have a winner a manger who know how to win how to build teams yet we are messing about...I feel.

Why would you not back Conte? Imo he is working with overall poor inconsistent players .

He has proved himself many times before and even got use to CL with a poor start last season.

The only fear felt these days at the stadium is from our own fans , there was a time NOONE wanted to play us at home..they all must be licking their lips at the thought these days..

Cant criticise Hugo's character, he has stood by Spurs like few others ever would.
But has any other club ever come in for him?

He has been a great servant and he has won us some important games but he is the symbol of this Tottenham era for me.

Very good but not quite enough to get over the line.

We've been beaten at home by
Liverpool x 3
United x 2
Chelsea x 3
West Ham
Southampton
Villa x 2
Brighton
and now Arsenal

In just 4 years

Depressing.

Was at the game, Pawsons performance went as expected, absolutely out of his depth, almost every spurs tackle resulted in an Arsenal free kick and a yellow card, how the fuck Partey wasn't carded for deliberate handball preventing a counter attack was suspicious as fuck too, and he wasn't the slightest bit concerned about their time wasting.

Not making any excuses though, we looked shit, didn't seem to have any shape whatsoever and they were so much slicker and first to every 50/50.

Hugely disappointing performance.

Spurs have put out an appeal for the identify of the fan that kicked Aaron Ramsdale with the culprit being told they will receive a lifetime ban from the club.
So far 5,278 people have come forward claiming it was them

Answer. The most obvious proof of this is Keith Burkinshaw after our relegation.
Maybe we should have backed more of the managers we sacked but I must admit most of them had either lost the plot or were dramatically failing. Which manager we sacked should we not have sacked? Even Poch was losing the plot at that time.
With Conte I just hate the football he plays. He shows no clear sign that he knows how to improve things. His blind faith in the likes of Sessegnon and Royal just baffles me.

I’m not saying things are as bad as the 90’s for a second but I do see a parallel here.

In the 90’s we hired numerous managers with vastly different levels of experience and reputation. But somehow they all did a similar level job.

We’ve gone through Poch, Jose and now Conte and all are facing the same issues. I’m sure they all have their faults but it’s clear there’s an underlying issue that’s creating this issue.

So, at the moment I think the problems run much deeper than the managers. Until things change at board level, no manager is going to achieve here.

Keith Burkinshaw...says it all. You mentioned Pochittinho he was onto something special imo when he asked for financial backing / first choice players he was imo not fully trusted even though he managed to see us through the biggest revolution the club had seen with the stadium build and CL finalists. Sorry to keep on about Pochittinho for those reading but is telling how Levy keeps pulling tge wool over people's eyes.

It's not rocket science back the manager.

Imo Since the appointment of Damian Comoli our transfer business has very much been structured to acquire talented players (preferably younger) at reasonable valuations whilst providing flexibility to change the manager (i.e. not necessarily backing the manager's wishes 100% but listening to their input and using it to direct a sustainable transfer policy where players have good potential resale value).

Playing devil's advocate, from Levy's perspective I'm sure he sees this as giving stability to the club and ensuring minimal disruption if a manager leaves...no manager is bigger than the club and all that.

It is not that we don't spend, it's just that we have a scattergun approach to transfers and we, up to now, have lacked a cohesive strategy. Maybe it is different this time and we are doing our best to get what Conte needs but it just takes time (hence Conte's comments on multiple transfer windows).

I do feel we have run out of road with this strategy and need to commit to Conte 100% or ENIC need to sell and move on.

There's no question the road is a dead end. The next phase of the ENIC grand master plan is to acquire the grade a managers fully back them otherwise what is the point. If we're not prepared to commit and really go for it we have to cut our cloth accordingly get certain types of coaches be more prepared to sell players at there peaks make a profit and repeat become that feeder club for the like of clubs that push hard for glory.
