Makes me laugh that so many people question our lack of depth. Only place we really lack depth is fullback. Arsenal (who so many here are creaming over after ONE signing) are lacking a CB, a DM, a winger and a CF.

I wouldn't even contemplate swapping our squad for theirs. No way.

Can't believe we just let real sell Ozil to our biggest rivals. Was a great window up to that point but we should have dragged Bale out until the last minute.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. We could have told Real that we would only complete the deal at the end of the day and only then if we felt that we were in a strong position to qualify for the CL without him. Given Perez's desperation to sign Bale that would have stopped the Ozil deal in its tracks and we'd be much better off.

People on here talking a lot of shit.

I'll say it again: the main reason you're upset is because Arse have signed Ozil. And rightly so, he's phenomenal.

People missing the point that our net spend is £0m.

Like I care, net spending on fees isn't any sort of target, target is to improve our team based on resources available and we did just fine, besides we made loss on our latest accounts, so reckon there wasn't that much extra to throw around.

Agree about everything but the £50mill maybe bollocks but the £30mill from tv money isnt and we didnt spend it
Yep, but was it available to spend though?

Thats the point, no-one, unless you are privvy to see how the books are balanced, won't know where that money goes. In fact, I'm sure maybe a very small handful of people are only privvy to that, and that information will stay firmly within the club.

If that got leaked, I'd be very, very worried.

It's just talk, the purchases and wages are pretty much balanced out this transfer window.

The rest.. unless we get a very last minute signing will be on other transfer windows.

Definitely been a good window but given the money we got in this window we could strengthened further. We need to guarantee top 4 as much as possible or we will be losing a top player every year. Still think we have added quality though.

Thanks to all at SC for great work over what has been the most exciting transfer window in my lifetime (I'm 39). I have to say some of the comments in this thread today have been embarrassing - we have assembled a far stronger squad than last season and I think that will show as the season goes on. COYFS!

So rose conceded one goal away Arsenal this season, but who conceded the 10 goals away to Arsenal over the 2 previous season's? Seems to me only conceding 1 is an improvement?

Rose wasn't at fault for the goal, you can't have 3 players keeping a defensive line and then one who independently decides to drop back. If Dawson had kept the line Walcott was offside and the move would have ended right there, since he didn't, Rose couldn't track Walcott, and even though Dawson dropped off to mark Giroud, Giroud still beat him and scored the goal. The only one at fault was Dawson, anyone who says Rose was at fault is a moron and is just looking for a scapegoat.

Agree it's been great but the BAE transfer has the potential to be a cluster fuck.

We needed a LB and arguably LWF cover.

To be in profit is good from a business perspective but there's no need to be with the new revenues etc.

Agree with LB (at least a cover) but we will be fine at LWF. We have Townsend, Sigg, Lamela & Eriksen that could play there. I actually think our strongest team as it stands would be Eriksen on the left, with Holtby in the middle (Until we get a better LWF & Eriksen adapts to the EPL).

Yeah, all the talk of needing a playmaker, we have signed Eriksen for that. 21yrs old, proven already at club, European and international level. He is the man that will provide the link. Holtby has had half a season to bed in, we will see the best of him now too. Two players right there for the key no10 role.
Now of only we had two LB's too....
Better bets than Ozil at £43 million and £200k wages!!!! Hey Ozil is a top player but has been pushed out of RM by Modric, Isco and Bale to name just a few

I'm happy about our TW, but we had a net spend of less than 10m. Even Cardiff spent more than that. We def have money to spend

It doens;t matter what our net spend is, we added a whole lot of players for nothing. nothing. nothing. Not only does it massively improve our squad, we done it for effectively nothing. It leaves our squad in a really fucking good financial position.

Its going to be hard enough getting our players to gel without adding more players to that mix. If we need to solve something, we can wait to jan, we got enough talent here to beat teams.
