Looks like the players dont even care. works when they have the ball. I rather loose with 0-3 than play like this for the rest of the season. we will lose all players anyway if we keep this style going. FUQ AVB, THE GAME IS ABOUT GLORY !!

Lloris was magnificent. IMO We on the whole were average again . It breaks my heart to see this side so "square ball". But a wins a win and three points was vital. Cheers comrades!

Our squad has way more creativity in it than is being allowed.

Players don't just become lame and boring.

is it a curse BTW to have all our No.8s being so bad in some of the matches??

and I too caught a glimpse of Paulinho agonising face after the match while being congratulated by AVB... but surely AVB knew he is burning him out doesn't he?!

I'm not sure we should hound AVB today. The match should have been out of sight before half time. Poor finishing cost us and made the match much harder than it should have been. Chances that other teams would have easily taken:

1. Paulinho in the box first half.
2. Defoe 2(?) 1 on 1's with the keeper
3. Ball bounces loose in the area and Sandro hits the man rather than driving it into the corner in the second half.
4. Lamela knocks the cutback from Defoe wide.

Despite our £100m spend, we're still playing Defoe up front. A good striker but we all know he's not top 4 quality. Not taking Remy on loan might have been a very, very, costly decision.

We came up against a rejuvenated Fulham side playing for their futures, even Berba was getting a sweat on ffs.

The goal we conceded was calamitous, so many mistakes in them few seconds it was disgusting.

The Chadli sub was a bit baffling but I think he wanted to give Holtby more space.

2 wonder strikes later and we're all smiles.

Good game though from both sides.

For fucks sake, we weren't lucky to win we deserved it. We scored two and should have scored at least a couple more if Defoe, Paulinho and Lamela hadn't seemingly permanently misplaced their shooting boots.

We were the better team, yes Lloris pulled a few good saves but you know what? He's part of the team so him doing his job well contributes to the 'better team' thing.

Concerns, some relating to AVB's choices and some to do with the players...

What was Defoe doing on the first place?
Why did we start with 2/3 defensive minded midfielders against Fulham?
We look a lot more susceptible at the back without Verts central. If he's not crocked then I'd like to see him and Vlad at the back for Sunderland with maybe Fryers at LB
We still seem to lack quality in the final third in terms of picking a killer pass or delivering a decent cross.
Townsend can't weight a decent pass to save his life. If he aint scoring then I'm not sure he's much of an option.

Another. Two. Goals. From. Outside. The. Box.

OK, we won and three points were what mattered this evening, but every one of the problems in attack is still present and correct. We cannot play our way through or behind organised defences because our build-up is too slow and our movement off the ball is too pedestrian. Another 348 attempted through balls bounced off defenders. Another 463 crosses were delayed until everyone was marked. Unless we can hammer one in from 20m, which fortunately we often can, we cannot score.

Surprisingly, Fulham's midfield confronted and often dominated Sandro and Capoue - what's that about? We seemed to have more of the ball with a makeshift midfield consisting of Lennon, Chadli, Holtby,Townsend and Paulinho than we had when we had a hard-tackling double pivot.

Nothing has been proven. We still haven't worked out how to solve the problems. At least we won. Chiriches' reputation takes another step forward. Lennon demonstrates again that he has to play on the right. Lamela demonstrates again that he needs to get stronger. And we have the best goalkeeper in the league.

Wow. Never in doubt...

Pretty crazy game in all truth. A lot of turgid stuff by both teams for long spells, but both teams also had good chances to score and it could have been a scoreline like 4-3. Two long shots found there way in for once, maybe our luck is changing. I'd make Lloris our Motm (which kind of indicates that it wasn't a great performance) purely because he made three tip round the post saves, two at crucial points in the second half.

A good comeback though when all must have been feeling the pressure and heard the faint sounds of the knives being sharpened. Hopefully the tide can turn and we can kick on from here and put a run of wins together, but we still have a lot of work to do.

One of the worst things in football is having to play a team that have had a bad run, change the manager and you are the first team to play them after that change.

We won.

Didn't someone say earlier in thread when we were losing that they had looked at some prediction thing and it said we would win 1-2 or 1-3 ?

This victory is hollow and papered over the cracks.
There was no bite no penetration, all foreplay and no sex with no money shot in sight, and most of the time seems as if Spurs were going to be the ones on the receiving end.
Shit SHIT going forward. AVB is lucky Spurs managed a freak goal from distance and another good goal from distance - both individual efforts.
This Fulham team is not half as good as they made themselves look today and any potential EPL winner would put them to the sword easily, but we struggled, laboured and looked poor.

And when is Dawson going to be dropped? He's shit, the amount of mistakes that lanky fool makes is getting worse by the game, I used to like him but now he is a liability.

I don't know. Getting 3 points and moving up to 6th doesn't feel particularly hollow.

A great result - a great fight back - great spirit.
But we're not a great team - yet.

This ride with AVB is the ultimate love him, hate him scenario.
At times we look so insipid, turgid, predictable and void of any creative ideas.
But there are signs of improvement and signs that AVB may be getting there..
Lamela - Looks like a player.
Lennon back is a massive improvement on the one dimensional Townsend.
Townsend as a sub is very useful.

When reality settles into my mind - I believe AVB needs time to get his team and his methods across and working. But when I watch "his" current Spurs team - I don't enjoy them much at all.
But we've heaps of talent in that squad and it needs time to blend - it also needs something better upfront.
Stick with AVB? I think so - I can't think of an alternative - and if I'm true to my belief that all managers should be given at least 3 seasons to imprint their footballing ideas into their team - then I think it is only fair to give him that time.
I console myself with the thought that we can only get better and that the players seem to be 100% behind him - in which case - so should we be - I just hope the rather tedious process of the transitional season can transist at pace!!

So glad we won this. Massively important game. Very happy for Holtby too!

Paulinho should have scored today, Lamela came very close too and showed some real skill and vision.

Some pretty good signs. Let's get Soldado and Lamela on the score sheet against Sunderland and things will kick off properly.

The usual suspects playing poor again (Dawson, Defoe etc.) Also worried by the fact that both goals were long range strikes that came out of nothing. Lucky 3 points but I'll take that. Thank god for HUGO

Yes yes :)
We should of scored earlier than we did. The result is what counts and well done tottenham - a few teams lost above us and we just need to keep on keeping on.
Thought we played ok tonight - just missed that crucial finishing from the start.
I think the sooner Dawson gets dropped the better and we will see less goals conceded - love the boy but we have to go to the next level.

Great result, absolutely great. You can still give credit for that even if the performance was still concerning in patches.

Nevertheless it was great character to come back and win.

BC will, correctly, damn Dawson for the terrible pass, but the midfielder (forget who) should've challenged Parker better, Chiriches was ball-watching and Vertonghen was completely out of position which didn't help things. Left it far too open.
