Great result, great second half performance. If we can push on then all of a sudden things are looking good again.

Good to see us build on the first half performance. Early goal helped but for a good 20 mins after that we passed the ball quickly, and had a lot of movement and so lots of options for the man on the ball and we created chances. Encouraging signs, lets keep doing this!

I'll always love Defoe, he has been such a fantastic servant for the club. But everyone I know looks at me like I am crazy when I say he shouldn't be starting games, and I think this performance optimizes that statement. It has to be Soldado upfront, and if not then even Adebayor. Defoe for the bench and Europe.

Very good win. Played some cracking stuff second half. Missed some glaring chances and would have been a sickener to concede.

what the heck was that? we survived...... but it was rubbish...

we only got up to 3rd gear... then we when 2-1 up, done drop to 2nd gear, cruise slowly and save petrol... madness!! we cannot do this against better team... defoe blew like 5 great chances, he should have gotten a hat trick...

some how we escape with 3points, in a game we should have won convincingly and help our goal difference... we got that bit of luck, but we should have had the game dead and buried.

maybe slightly edgy with a few defenders out... very very grateful that we came from behind and too 3points

Well, it's a kind of purgatory, but 7 points from 9 is something of a recovery from 0-6 and what came before. We needed some luck to get the win, but we were superior and deserved the win.

AVB looked like we won a cup when the whistle went, which was odd. But anyone thinking of hammering him should take a day off. Consider this - you could be a Sunderland fan!

Just before many of you start flying in the clouds, let me remind you that Sunderland are sitting at the very bottom of the table. We should comfortably win against them rather than scraping our pants after the end of the game.

Much more confident for the Liverpool game now....if we continue on in the same way...

Horrible last 20 mins, should have scored 5 or 6. But some excellent performances: Capoue, Walker, Dembele and Lennon were all excellent, and not a poor performance in the house. Townsend on the left - it has to be this next time.

Errmmm Defoe? he couldn't hit a barn door
