Should we be worried about Gary Linekar's mental state? He is in full support of Hoddle to become our next manager, citing his "great footballing mind!"
Yeah, I'm certainly worried about his mental state

To be fair, Hoddle does know a lot about the game and would have us playing better football for sure. Under his management, I think the England team were actually going places in terms of the way we were playing.

The problem with Hoddle is his man-management skills are a car crash and for that reason it is destined to end in disaster.

He isn't wrong, he does have a great footballing mind but so does Andre and that didn't work

I think it's just a friend trying to help a friend out tbh

Surely we have to go with someone with prem experience this time, might have to wait till the summer?
De Boer or Yakin is a car crash waiting to happen
Out of 21 Premier League trophies won:

Ferguson 13
Wenger 3
Mourinho 2
Dalglish 1
Ancelotti 1
Mancini 1

Only Dalglish appointed with previous experience of management in England. Prem experience shouldn't necessarily be a huge factor.

It is in my book, fergie, dalglish is a long time ago and coming from Scotland would have managed in similar style football. Mancini, Ancelotti, Mourinho were backed big time in the transfer market.

Unless we pick out a gem like Wenger ( hate typing that ) which would be a big risk and massively unlikely given Levy track record, I would rather go for a safer bet.

Problem is there doesn't seem to be many options ATM. Come back Harry all is forgiven

The Fergie stat bears thinking about in our current circumstances.

What was the context which enabled that success
what were the skills Fergie brought

Never forgiven him for his last Spurs accident - including the loss against ManU 3-5 after being 3 up at halftime.

My all time favorite player mind.

I've just read that Tim doesn't have UEFA Pro license what means he couldn't be our long-term solution. He couldn't even manage us against Dnipro.

I don't know if it's true but definitely it's interesting.
As long he applies for course in next 12 weeks its ok

If that's true, then why has he not been putting his footballing mind to work in coaching? And he was putting it to work, it was with wolves!

Well why isn't he managing at the moment then?

He took time out to set up and look after his academy, pretty sure he's turned down a few offers in the last few years too.

That said he'd not be my choice to take over and I seriously doubt he would be an option, given the events of last time.

For the reasons I've said regarding his man-management.

I would imagine he learnt a lot about man management when he was coaching kids that had lost confidence. It's not like he has been out of the game, he just hasn't been high profile.

Obviously love Hoddle, legend. But what has he done to make anyone think things would be better this time around? Apart from talk a very good game on Skysports.

Hoddle should be in a role such as a Technical Director at club level or even for the national team, focusing on getting the most out of an academy and making sure the players coming through play the right way and are comfortable with the ball at their feet.

Tactically and man-management skills let him down on it is often said, no way would I want him in a managers role again.

Who is this Di Marzio guy who is in London?

Is he a manager or an agent or something?
