I've just read that Tim doesn't have UEFA Pro license what means he couldn't be our long-term solution. He couldn't even manage us against Dnipro.

I don't know if it's true but definitely it's interesting.

Surely it'd be perfectly OK for Chris Ramsey to take the reigns, though? One would imagine he is more than qualified when it comes to coaching badges and licenses etc?

My dad's first reaction to AVB's sacking was to suggest that Hoddle be given another crack at the job

He seems to think that Hoddle's problem first time round was his expectations of players who's ability did not live up to his own and that now we have a more talented squad who would be more capable of performing to the standard Hoddle would expect them too he would be more successful.

Frankly I don't agree with my Dad and I think he's chatting bollocks - some of this may come from him having a soft spot for Hoddle having watched him play for the club where as he was before my time.

I just don't think its fair to suggest the only problem with Hoddle's man management was having to deal with players less talented than himself and I don't think having more skillful and talented players to coach now will magically make Hoddle a better and more successful manager.

He did an ok job for England I will agree, ok at Chelsea and Swindon also but not spectacular really and he was woeful for us.

Club legend and deserves all the respect he gets for his playing days at the club - but I find it hard to justify any logic that he would be better than he was first time round.

Obviously love Hoddle, legend. But what has he done to make anyone think things would be better this time around? Apart from talk a very good game on Skysports.

Indeed, legend. But he's been out the game too long for me.

And he hates spastics. Have you heard Harry Kane speak? That wouldn't go down too well

You know that famous Douglas Adams quote that: "Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job". Same rule might apply here. I must admit that I don't know much about him, other than the fact that he used to publish ICON magazine with Jamie and Louise Redknapp which was marketed for professional footballers.
He seems like an operator. That's for sure. Whether he's got the nous is another question.

Highest prem league finish twice, he did mostly good things for us

I'm not disputing that he did well here, but after the last five months he had here (and his infatuation with us since) I don't want him anywhere near the club in any capacity again.

Agreed. Not sure why there are so many `Arry haters around? Yeah he liked a bit of chat with the press but we played some of the best football I've ever seen us play. AVB also had issues talking to the press, slating them and the fans, neither which helped in him retaining his role.

He also oversaw a mid season collapse twice and failed to manage a large squad adequately leading to a raft of disillusioned players.

I partly see your dad's point, to be fair. Hoddle definitely had a problem with the fact that he was still technically a better player than 90% of the squad we had at the time and, according to several reports, was a bit of a show-off in traning with a "look, this is what I want you to do, see me doing this, it's easy" sort of attitude.

But I agree with you in that I don't think he'd be a good manager for us now regardless of the players' abilities, he's just a bit ... off.

I really don't totally agree. Do you remember when we had Crouchy upfront? Our midfield just wanted to launch at towards his forehead from any position on the pitch. I don't know about you but I don't consider that good football.

I don't want him back either I said it tongue and check, it was in reference to the fact there seems to be no good EPL experienced manager available.

Easy in hindsight but when we got AVB we should have gone for Moyes or Martinez

Indeed and refused to accept any responsibility for it either and called anyone who questioned the collapses an idiot. I don't want him anywhere near my football club.

Maybe he's hated so much because of the fact that he proclaimed supporters of THFC as "idiots"?

Or maybe he's hated so much because he claimed that "they don't have a clue what they're on about", when supporters continually said Bale isn't a LB?

OR maybe he's hated so much because he shat on us and the club, whilst openly whoring himself out for the England job, and even offered Brendan Rodgers the job as his assistant?

And all of that before waltzing into Daniel Levy's office with the same scummy agent who Rooney used for a massive pay-rise at United, to try and screw Levy to the floor, via an improved contract for himself, 1 week after Levy had lost his mother?

Of course, it could be because he's a complete crook, but had a fucking good lawyer (or enough money to get away with his dog being a shit liar)?

Or maybe it's because he's lauded as this excellent manager, almost messiah like, but has one just one trophy in his short 37 year management history, and has had multiple relegations along the way?

Just throwing a few suggestions out there

Just like AVB appears to have done, Redknapp sealed his own fate.
