---------------Lloris---------------------
-Naughton-Sandro-Vertonghen-Fryers---
-----------Bentaleb-Eriksen-------------
---------------Chadli--------------------
Townsend-----Soldado--------Adebayor-

Subs: Kane, Vejlkovic, Sigurdsson, Paul/ Dembele, Rose, Lennon, Friedel

Fryers, Bentaleb, Naughton and Chadli earned their spot tonight. Might even give Kane a game in the league from the beginning.

We can experiment now for next season.

Was Fryers injured tonight? If not, I'd play him ahead of Rose who in his last couple of games seems out of sorts. And that's being gentle.

Agree with that, except maybe dropping Rose for Fryers. Fryers did well but I though Rose was also pretty good tonight.

Are we all sure we want Vertonghen back?! Only joking (maybe!).

I must admit it crossed my mind lol...undoubtedly classy and is rested now of course, but one thing we saw tonight was proper desire and commitment.

I think the guy finds the game easy, well he makes it look easy, but Jesus he's so slack sometimes as well.

I think we should play the next two games like we have a chance of forth. We will have played our toughest games, Liverpool and Arsenal will have played their game in hand and Arsenal will have played both Chelsea & Man City. If there is even a remote chance to qualify, after these two games it will either be 99.99% over or we will have momentum & confidence and the other team(s) will start to get nervous.

After the Liverpool game, if it is all over, we should start to experiment with a couple of youth players and players in different positions, combinations etc.

Assuming no players are fit that weren't for Benfica, other than Kaboul, who TS said should be fit for Southampton and assuming Lloris was rested and not injured (in the interview when the squad was announced Lloris wasn't mentioned as injured but the others were:

Lloris
Naughton Kaboul Verts Rose
Sandro Bentaleb
Eriksen Soldado Chadli
Ade
If Lloris is injured, obviously swap with Freidel.
If Kaboul is still out, swap with Fryers.

Sherwood has apparently said Kaboul, Ade & Dembele may be back for the weekend, he'd be surprised if anyone else made it. Rose has a knee problem.

From Simon Peach, evening standard.

I like this lineup a lot. Eriksen and Chadli seemed to do well swapping with each other tonight, and seeing as Townsend is able to play both sides it gives quite a bit of interchangeability to force opponents to think about. Excited to see what Chadli can do with his newfound confidence in the box with Ade.

Neither Townsend or Lennon should play. These two have provided virtually nothing end product wise in months, yet people here keep sticking one or both in their weekly teams.

Play a 4-4-2 with Chadli on the right and Eriksen on the left and Ade/Soldado up top. Southampton are grossly overrated in my opinion and we'd beat them again with the proper line-up. However, if Tim rolls out Lennon and Townsend on the wings with just Ade up top, then we can forget it. We'll create nothing and likely draw or lose 1-0.
