Their objectives differing to ours doesn't take away from the great job Pochettino has done though. And that's a very narrow minded assessment.

Has he got the best out of the resources at his disposal? Unequivocally, yes.

Poch owns a 32% win percentage at Saints...........would he double that at Spurs? and would that get us to the promised land?

Ultimately whoever is appointed if he fails it has to fall on Levy and he needs to go.

Levy simply cannot get away with another shambles like this season. rightly or wrongly he sacked our greatest manager in recent record, then sacked the next one with the highest points total and now has sacked the 'best' Tottenham manager for PPG Average in the premier league era..... Mr Levy you need to get this right.

I'm almost swaying toward Poch... for no reason other than I think, given no more Levy-ing, he could stick around. I like the idea of doing a Liverpool (puke), and being a bit obscure for a season or two, really building a team, an ethic, a togetherness, and then one season it'll be us everyone is saying is "back" and "out of the wilderness" as we challenge for honours.

Or we could just hire Benitez and have a season of crowd chants and fat Spanish paella in the cafes..?

welcome to Spurs Mr Pochettino. really deserve the gig on them numbers.

Dont give me bollocks about Martinez and Rodgers. Each man is an individual. We need Proactive. not Reactive

Levy is a complete muppet

Jesus Christ I can never understand the negativity of Spurs fans. This season we've had people moaning that the football under avb was the worst they'd seen in eons, then we had Sherwood who couldn't find a supporter in the country on his side. And then we have southampton, who people have been raving about all season, playing great football, playing youth, everything we've been clamouring for, yet people say if we get the manager he's going to make us worse and take us to mid table??? I give up! Some of you wouldn't be happy if we got Guardiola!!
You mean the Southampton that dim beat?Twice.
I've not found them great to watch and an deeply concerned that their "success" this year is based on the unknown quantity factor.
Once he, his tactics and players that did well fit him are sussed I doubt very much he'll have a plan B.

Liverpool didn't ignore Rodgers because Swansea's objectives were different, the same for Everton with Martinez and Wigan.

Has he got the best out of the resources at his disposal? Unequivocally, yes.

That's the heart of the issue in terms of assessing his impact and ability as a coach.
I'm really good at handling claims at the insurance firm I work for.
It doesn't mean I'd be good a writing policies in the underwriting teams.

'Dim' also beat Martinez's Everton yet people would be creaming themselves if we were going for him. The point I was trying to make is I just can't stand all this negativity!

Lets not forget, Espanyol in his 3rd season started with 9 points from 13 games. Disastrous, what skills did he use then to save them? None....he was sacked.

I don't understand the liks to Rafa...

Poch & FDB, yes, I can see them happening as they're both at the point in their careers where it would make sense to take on a team like Spurs but Rafa???

He's just had a great first season at Napoli winning the Coppa Italia and securing CL qualification (all after selling their star striker - Cavani - last summer). Why would he leave to join us at this point in time? I don't understand where the links have come from. what have I missed???

They lost Cavani but they signed Higuain and Mertens. I agree with you, but it's not like he did something unexpected

I honestly cant wait to see Pochettino come in and totally transform the way we've been playing and then retrieve all this crap which is being spouted.

Alright, you guilted me into it....donated £15....will try to come back throughout the summer and do it again if you guys don't cause the club to muck up the management appointment.

However....Should we hire Mick McCarthy as 1st team manager i will donate £100 to the site and another £100 to the suicide hotline of the A&C's choice.

Maybe you should read this article and inform better about his time at Espanyol.

Giving numbers like that is misleading

And even if we looked at that out of context, we can also talk about Martinez getting Wigan relegated, Klopp getting Mainz relegated, Simeone ending last with the biggest team in Argentina.....

Just to echo that, we appreciate every tanner sent our way. But we need more people sending it. So if you haven't donated yet, what's the hold up? Get cracking!
I've just reimbursed Rob's "£50 out of his own pocket" for this week with a contribution for that amount.
But back on topic... I can't help feeling somewhat underwhelmed if it's Poch. Will support him, of course, but not with much optimism.

I think it stems from the fact that his family still live in England and he`s openly stated that he`d love to manage another PL club.
