I'm going to play devils advocate here.

Perhaps there is something that we are NOT aware of that is causing this nothing news to blow up. Maybe the owners have a grudge against people with a particular colour of skin and didn't want to shake hands. If he was at a reception with the owners and no one shook hands I think you may understand his anger.

Let's wait for more "facts" to come out. As it is, the story is so trivial that many if us are tearing it as another primadonna footballer stamping his feet.
If that's the case why wouldn't he come out and say that instead of this birthday story which is doing him no favors whatsoever?

I very sincerely doubt that is the case! Why on earth would you come up with that scenario?

Ahhhh I see, we have the classic "victim of racism but decides to out the racists as people who remembered his birthday but not with enough oomph" situation.

That'll learn em.

Small-eared cad. Probably didn't hear anyone say happy birthday as they were standing more than 2 feet away.

I bet Yaya is just the sort to accept a move to a team like Spurs just to piss on City's parade.

Imagine the headlines.

"Shocker as Man City's BEST player forces a move to lowly SPURS"

That'll get him wet.

That clip of them on the plane singing happy birthday didn't do anyone any favours. Most of the players were sat there with headphones on, oblivious to everything, and it looked like only Nasri and maybe one or two other players sang.

Seems to me that this is all about a pay rise. He probably believes that scoring a 5th of their PL goals this season warrants a rise (which it probably would, it he wasn't already on approx. 200k per week).

Didn't you post somethng a few weeks ago about your missing your works do because it was a back-slapping party for the same old faces every year while you don't get any thanks? This seems to be Yaya's version of that, but he's been forced to go to the party, and on his birthday, and the managers have still ignored him.

I can't see Barca breaking the bank for someone whose career has already peaked and probably only has one last big season or two in him.

Or the Common Dwnominator? The Cake story is so ridiculous that it cannot be serious. There has to be something bigger and the shaking hands bit is the one that caught my attention.

Can't for the life of me see why the press are not slaughtering him right now. Haven't seen any mainstream opinion pieces on what is easily the most ludicrous story in modern football.

Also if he's still in the league next season we should sing in da club by 50 cent to him:

Go Toure, it's ya birthday
No one gives a fuck about ya birthday
Etc

Explained an another forum which is beginning to makes sense:

What's happening is, Yaya has seen that Messi has once again been given a bumper new contract to make him the highest paid player in the world, which may or may not be the reason he's looked like he hasn't cared up to that point. Ronaldo told everyone he was sad last year and he ended up getting his new contract for loadsa money, and he was suddenly happy again. Not only that, but even Wayne Rooney has been at it, consistently!

Yaya has recently been talking about how he doesn't get the recognition he deserves because he is African, resenting those like Messi and Ronaldo who do get the attention he craves, and the ever increasing contracts to go with it. The problem Yaya has with this approach, is simply that his agent is too stupid to think of a better reason for him getting a new, bigger, deal than people not making a bigger deal about his damn birthday. It's possibly the most retarded reasoning I've ever heard for someone supposedly wanting to leave a club.

I'm a stubborn wanker and if it was my club I would probably sell him now just for being a ****.

He was bleating recently about not being appreciated enough because he's from Africa.
Then he whinged about not being voted footballer of the year.
Now it's about his bloody birthday.

First class wanker, that's what he is.

What in the actual fuck? Is this shit really real? I mean are all footballers these days exactly like 5 year old's who get in a strop because they don't get whatever shiny thing has caught their attention for the last 5 seconds?

I genuinely admired Toure for being an outstanding footballer, and what I thought was a decent lad. Turns out that they are all, in actual fact, monstrous dickbags. I couldn't give a fuck anymore about today's generation if he leaves his club because of this.

I'd like to see this video of him sitting on the plane ignoring his team mates acknowledging his birthday. This excuse and him whining about not getting plaudits because of his colour makes him sound like a right twat.
