Considering Vorm would cost around £5 million-ish and if Lloris was to go, Levy wouldn't take anything less than £20 million, I really don't think Vorm would be the direct replacement, so I see this as backup with Friedel as 3rd choice which I think is an outstanding capture, not only would we assure quality backup for the next 3-5 seasons, we could prevent Liverpool from getting solid competition for Mignolet. :) I may be jumping the gun on this but bravo Levy, bravo *clap clap*

If Vorm does come in as back up then fair play to the club, would be a good statement towards Poch, quality keeper.

Think that's jumping the gun slightly. We need a backup to Lloris, Friedel isn't getting any younger.
Can't imagine Vorm joining Spurs to be backup for Lloris. He's 30 years old and in his prime. We either need to trust Archer to be our backup keeper or find another keeper who's 35+ and happy to be on the bench.

Thing is, Vorm is always injured!

Additional unrelated to ITK waffle removed by A&C :hungry:

Sorry AC! I'll donate again this week as an apology.

EDIT. Costa completing his Chelsea medical ahead of a transfer would leave Athletico with no recognised strikers.

There's been recent ITK linking Athletico with a move for Soldado and this would likely accelerate any move.

Swansea bought Fabianski recently didn't they? Vorm is 30 maybe just looking for a payday and will be happy to play Europa games? Please

And in reality we sell Lloris on the final day of the transfer window to PSG, but we should all get excited about the special partnership we also signed with them. It means they can buy Eriksen without hassle in the next window.

But yay! We made 20mil profit buy signing Mark Bosnich out of retirement on a free. Never mind that Nazi business from a few years ago.

OOOH Spurs you're finally making a cynic of me :D

I would bet that when we sat down and offered Brad a new contract, Brad mentioned his body was beginning to struggle with even the backups demands, he is 43! So I bet with Fabianski stating he wanted 1st team football at the Britannia and with them out of Europe this season, Vorm has thought, "well if i'm going to be backup, I might as well be richly paid for doing it and I can guarantee myself Europa/cup games at a bigger club" So I think this move makes perfect sense for Vorm because also this way I reckon backing up Hugo at Europa League games would still earn him a call up to the Dutch squad rather than duking it out with Fabianski.

It would also be a good way to show support for Poch because last year when Boruc got injured I bet Poch got sick of having to shove either Gazzaniga or Delvis in goal instead. I reckon Poch would love to have secure PL quality backup considering we'll be fighting on 4 fronts again next season.

Hugo is not going anywhere. You guys really are clueless sometimes. When have we ever let any of our big players leave without a long running battle and big fee?

We are not going to suddenly wake up one day and he has quietly slipped out of the back door, with Vorm in as his replacement, like some of you are implying

Good logic, me like. I had hoped for a home grown no.2 but i wouldn't be unhappy with Vorm.

So given @carpediem991's latest a information in the Lovren thread, who are some other realistic CB targets that could work in Poch's system (mobile, athletic, ball-playing, physical enough for Prem)?

Can't really see why we'd go for Vorm.

He's too good to be a backup and probably not good enough to be a Hugo replacement. I actually rate him quite highly, but if Hugo was to go you'd want us to try and find someone at the same level...and I'm not sure Vorm is at that level.

Vorm is in that odd place as a player....he is probably too good to be a backup, but not good enough to start for one of the top of the table squads, but also probably at a point in his career where he feels he should be paid more than he makes at Swansea.

He could conceivably be willing to come in as a backup because of pay especially since the only teams that would up his pay (us and LFC) couldn't guarantee his playing time.

He is pretty injury prone though and maybe just wanting to get a season with us to put himself in the shop window
