Stobart is saying we have agreed a deal in principle to sign Remy

but he wants to see if Arsenal want him first.

Can't blame him TBH.

I really hope this is true and that Arsenal aren't interested. Although, I think he'd fit right in there unfortunately.

Remy would be a very solid start to our summer business. Knows where the net is that fella and is lightning.

I agree, though with Soldado, Ade and Kane already here I can't really see us buying more than 1 striker so that'd be it on that front...

Remy if he signed surely would be signed to play as LS in a 433/4231 rather than a CF. As he has never shown the goal scoring prowess to score the amount of goals we would want from a lone striker. He also has a very patchy injury record.

He has a 1 in 2 record at pretty much every club IIRC

If we sign Remy I can't see us going for jay rodriguez, it seems an either/or situation to me? Both seen as a goal scoring wide player as opposed to the man up top.

Looks like Greg Stobart has got a very good source inside the club; He was the first journo to announce we are signing Poch when all others were sitting on the wall;

Lets see how this Remy story unfolds..

Remy with Adebayor is juicy

If we signed Remy surely either Ade or Soldado would be heading out the door...Remy would be a nice addition but he also seems to pick up knocks that keep him out for a match or two like it was his job.

Really it has also seemed like if Arsenal were to make a bid he would go there without a second thought really surprised they haven't stepped in and made an offer thus far...

Sorry - time to wake up - we aren't going to sign two strikers.... Looks like Remy has signed already for the empty crates ... as for Morata well fingers crossed ....

I think you will find our Defence and our Attack are our weak points, in that order.

Our midfield is good, and overstocked!!

Our midfield isn't good enough and its certainly way over stocked.........plenty of quantity and little quality.
Having a poor midfield stretches our defence and makes their job tougher and a lack of quality in creating opportunities has a knock on effect for our forwards too.
I would get rid of seven and replace them with three top quality ones.

Dear God not Remy, I can barely handle Ade at Tottenham, I can't take another mercenary c*** not after this season, he watches Arsenal game, he rejected Newcastle for the money at QPR than joined Newcastle when it suited him after getting relegated, injury problems, 27, little chance of profit, I don't care if he scored 14 goals, so did bloody Rodriguez! Our scouting network must be poor if we can't find someone else to produce better numbers.

Where is our pride? Waiting to sign someone who himself is waiting if there is an offer from bloody Arsenal? Surely not, if that were the case I hope we pull the plug immediately.

I agree that our midfield is overrated by our fans, and that it is the cause of more problems throughout the team than people give it credit for, but it certainly isn't bad enough to clear out the whole lot of them.

That's what I thought. And he'd be a better lone striker in the PL than Soldado ever will be. Although as has been said, he would probably play as a WF together with Ade, which is fine by me and quite an exciting prospect. The fact he could play instead of Ade, as a WF or as Ade's strike partner in a more conventional system makes this a very important signing imo.

Slight concern over his injury record but the same was said when we were linked to him under Harry. And I'm convinced that if we had signed him then we'd be playing CL football and Harry would still have a job.

Who cares if he's waiting for Arsenal? Being objective can you blame him? He would improve our first team immediately and is available for a fee and wages that is well within our means.

You talk of pride but then go on to mention that we won't make any profit on him. Do we really have think of selling players before we've even bought them? Not much pride in that.

Most would improve our first team atm why get the one who will be turned on the quickest if all goes tits up?

There may not be pride in looking at him like a piece of meat but that's how he sees us and if we sign him, someone who clearly prefers Arsenal and who's a proven mercenary, we lose all of our identity, an identity created and fought for by legends such as Bill Nicholson, Danny Blanchflower and Ledley King.

Well, that's a new one on me. I mean a footballer who's just in the game for the money........................i am shocked, and truly upset to read this.
