Woy is a clueless manager. Shockingly inept and truly deserves to be sacked. Mediocre coach serves up mediocre performances.
But when you have mediocre players that are hyped to the hilt by the nation and the press you know you are knackered from day one.
Who'd want the England job? Throw enough money at it and you can get some decent managers, still have to work with the same crock of shite though...

We have enough energy and talent to have beaten Italy and a shit Uruguay team tonight.

It has been dreadfully utilised. That's been problem.

Any team can have energy it the world cup FFS we dont have the quality, get real we dont have the talent

Don't you English say this every 2 years after you've failed miserably yet again but nothing changes?

Yep nothing does change. Which why I'm REALLY hoping a group stage exit finally gets the message through to the people who run our national team.

Woy should resign if he has anything about him. They way we have set up for the last two games is the worst I have possibly seen from any team. A complete clusterfuck*

* Still not technically out though, so this disclaimer covers me for when we go on to win the world cup...

Totally agree. Absolutely embarrassing irt organisation, selection, tactics.

As a player he read the game incredibly well, as a coach, he continues to read the game very well, IIRC he was a big part in some of these younger players being picked for the England team, so he has the right idea.

Write him off because 'he has no experience' if you want, but everybody starts from 0, whatever level of the game they start from. He couldn't do much worse than Hodgson.
I work in an industry of good talkers, so the fact Neville is good talker doesnt mean shit imo, its alright seeing the problem but can you fix it live.

I agree with you that he is one of better talkers though. My dad is a huge united fan and I said he is a fool to take the job at the time as it will hurt him a bit as well. That was clear when Jamie Carragher joked that Townsend kept him in a job and he reluctantly agreed.

Foreign coach if needs be. Fuck English coaches, they don't have the level of appreciation for tactics or the modern thinking required at the moment. All these other teams, even with limited players, play with a structure, plan and understanding of their game plan and give 100%. We were just a disorganised rabble, I'd really like to know what they did for three weeks before the tournament, doesn't look like a lot.
Foreign coaches go to several clubs in several countries to learn (not always as an employee, sometimes just visit with permission) but the only British coach I have heard doing this is Rodgers.

Mourinho nearly took the England job and has repeatedly said that at some point, he wants to be England manager.

Yeah he probably will when he's old and finished at club level. He's never going to take it when he's in his prime winning leagues and CL's. Nor is Benitez. We took on Roy who was West Brom manager FFS! Here's looking forward to the 2030 WC with Bourinho in charge.

Assuming Italy beat Costa Rica tomorrow, how strong will their desire be to beat Uruguay in the final game?

So, we're not gonna win the WC? Oh my. At least they did the decent thing and went out really early/played badly enough this time that even if we do sneak through, no false optimism can creep in and crush the entire nation. Again.

We get a little worse with each and every tourney that happens.

I think you're blinkered by the prem hype. Most of our 'great' players are average at best. Lallana wouldn't get into the dutch sqaud in a million years, but because he's English he's a 'star'.
Not talking about whether they are great or not.

townsend more composed than Sherwood ever was, would have been good to see his reaction to this, doubt he'd be praising the players like these commentators.
