Seeing as we're confessing stuff:

I never read Starting Price's posts because they're too long, I usually look at his ratings at the bottom and if he has positive ones I click the 'like' rating.

YESSSSSS!!!! SAME HERE!

Our Premier League fans are an embarrassment, a half empty 1882 match against Dynamo Cheeky Girl puts them to shame.

That might not be unpopular but I needed to say it

Where to start...

- Sandro is over-rated.
- Never seen what Dembele brings to the table, especially as part of a possession focused team.
- Vertonghen has had more poor games for us than good games.
- Always laughed at people who said Vertonghen was captaincy material.
- Soldado does not work hard. The comparison in this aspect with Ade I also find strange.
- Bar the lazy tracking back, there is nothing different to Rose's performances than Walker. Both need to do better on the ball.
- Bentaleb's selection was completely justified, only midfielder who can put his foot on the ball and recycle it well.
- Chiriches is ok for a team that keeps 75% of the ball, when asked to do some basic defending though he looks very average.

Other stuff:

- I think large sections of our fans are amongst the worst around, and over the last year or two I can see why we get so much stick unfortunately.

- We need to give far more opportunities to academy players, instead of buying yet more players. I don't think some of them are any worse than what we have seen over the last few years.

- Hoddle was predictable in his approach, packing the team with has-beens, and because of this doomed to fail.
- Jol was a nice guy, but an average, predictable manager who could have no complaints he got the hook.
- I liked some of the stuff that Ramos tried to get us to do, players didn't want to know though and I blame them for it. I'll admit his inability to learn English didn't help though.
- Redknapp massively underachieved, particularly last season. I think others now see this though...

Very random stuff that sticks out:

- Robinson was a pretty poor goalkeeper.
- Lee Young-Pyo was pretty crap.
- Doherty and Gardner are the two worst players I have ever seen play for us. Individually, bad; as a duo, Aids.
- Lennon has to be the least determined footballer I have seen play, total disinterest in bettering himself and improving his game since he broke through.
- Ghaly wasn't that bad.
- Neither was Jenas.
- I did like Keane, but found him inconsistent.

That's harsh man, I never said yours were bad :(

True, Goode Pard'Ner...but I thought I felt your elbow passing with 5000 mils of my head and just had to sink my teeth in and then throw myself down, rolling around clutching my head, and then walk about for ten minutes clutching and feeling and tenderly maneuvering them like they had been hit really hard :wacky:

This thread is so cathartic... Dembele, I don't see the fuss. He always passes sideways and has got a great shot but he's so reluctant to use it... Drives me insane

Yeah, but them Cheeky Girls are damn hot fine...having the personalities of slightly disturbed amoebas is only a slight hindrance when it comes to damn fine hot laydeez

I actually dont hate the new home shirt

If he starts the season as he played in the second half last term then I struggle to pick a better captain than Adebayor!

I dont rate any of our defenders

Our atmosphere at the Lane will hold us back more than the lack of commitment from our players.

I was soo impressed with a recent stadium tour of the Santiago Bernabeu that Ive now cancelled my plans for a White Hart Lane tour for fear of severe disappointment (Ive already done the free one you get when a new shirt is released)

The line officials had it in for Defoe. He was only ever marginally offside twice in his career.

Adebayor gets way too much praise and is not good enough. He plays only for himself, when he can be bothered. He has poor mentality, a perfect example being when United levelled in our game earlier this season and he somehow couldn't play anymore. Sherwood admitted that they didn't know what was wrong with him. He clearly just had enough and gave up.

He's not good enough technically, has an awful first touch, is poor in the air for a big player (jumps too early) and can't finish for shit.

I make it sound like I hate him and that isn't true. He does actually have a good work rate when out on the pitch and motivated, and can score some cracking goals despite his lack of composure (I think if he doesn't have time to think he'll score). Tim was right to bring him back into the team because he needed another option. Ade played well because he was motivated and wanted to prove a point. However, he doesn't play consistently enough and will only go back to being his old self eventually.

Ultimately, I think it's to the detriment of the team to have to rely on a player like this. Need someone with more consistency to be the focal point of our attack.

A couple more:

Huddlestone would've been good with the midfield players we have at our disposal over this recent season. However, it would have to be part of a midfield 3 where two other players can do the dirty work for him. He's a better passer than anyone else we have in that central midfield area.

This leads on to my next point. We need to ditch the 4-2-3-1 as quickly as possible and start playing 4-3-3. Our wide men don't influence the game enough and do not provide any goal threat. Shove Capoue as the anchor and push those wide men up.

I agree with you for the most part, but we didn't ever really play a genuine 4-2-3-1. Positionally, despite calling it as such, it was much closer to a 4-5-1 than anything else.
