better video, skip to 55 seconds

I had that commentary in US and I'm not sure it could have been more anti-spurs. If that was the first time you'd ever watched a match you would have thought that Mark Noble was the fucking messiah. Was absolutely infuriating. Glad we fucking stuck it up their arses in the 94th min!

Say what you want about Harry Kane.

He's delivering meaningful play everytime he gets a game.

Down to 10 men, conceded a penalty... away to West Ham on opening day... and somehow go on to win 1-0.

That isn't all down to luck. Sorry, it just isn't.

Dier looks like he's been in the Premier League for years. Quite remarkable really.

I guess some folks will complain about anything.

We just played a game where we started Rose at LB, Naughton at RB, we handed a debut to a 20-yo CB who was a late signing from Portugal, we played a striker who is just getting over a bout with malaria, we started 2 CMs who could not get on the pitch at the end of last season, we started a LW who has not played a PL game in 8 months.

Then we had a player sent off after 30 minutes, in an away game, for the first match of the season, in a derby, under a new manager.

And still, we came away with 3 points. If you can't simply be excited about that result, under those circumstances, then I am not sure if you will ever truly be happy.

This club, and those players, and that manager put forth the effort to hold it together, and find a win. I saw players who played hard, never gave up - no capitulation. The players looked organized, they looked like they knew what they were supposed to be doing at all times. I saw Pochettino coaching the entire game. There was no screaming at players, or sitting in the stands, he was actively coaching the players. I thought his subs showed his attitude - three offensive subs to go out and find a win, and not sit back a take an away draw.

Now is the time to sit back and appreciate that the attitudes are shifting at the club. Did players make mistakes - absolutely. You can't play this game without making mistakes. Do we have to improve in certain areas. Absolutely, every team has room for improvement. But, if that is your takeaway from this, the first game of the season, then I fear you are not opening your eyes to the dawning of a new era of glory.

COYS!!

Great post mate.

If West Ham had someone up front who could finish they would have been out of sight by half time.

Very early days, and the team has yet to gel, but in all honesty keeping possession without an end product was again very evident. I wouldn't go as far to say it was a great start, but the main thing for me was that their heads didn't drop after Naughton's laughable sending off.

Early signs of promise but MS is a fucking must from what i saw today, oh and Verts and Dier from next week please Poch.

They didn't create that many good chances...Vaz Te header was as good as it got.

I thought Kane had scored at first- probably because I could never have expected Dier scoring :)

That was a lot better than what we saw under AVB

I think Liverpool might come a bit early for us but I think we'll give it a good go.

Mate they have a whole raft of changes to their squad and of course no Suarez.

We have the Europa League qualifiers to build some more fluidity to our play.

I'm confident we'll be looking slicker by the time they come to town.

Didn't he win a penalty in his first (Euro) game for us?
This kid will be, not might be, an England international and will score double digit EPL goals for us this season
