But that makes no sense. Squad size is determined by regs like all the other teams but its the quality of the squad that counts. Upgrading inefficient players was needed and there is no excuse for that not to have been done. I still think there is something to be done.

Smallest net spend in he PL in last 5 years. An embarrassment. Cancer of Enic and Lewis driving us further away from the top. 3 seasons of falling behind.

I think people don't quite understand his remit at the club. He does help identify players and get involved if he has the links, but this isn't the major part of his job and Levy is more involved. Most of his job is working with the youth academies, managing and organising our scouting network and setting up our brand. This was his job at Roma. He wasn't the chief scout or the Galliani/Marotta (AC Milan/Juve) type of DoF who got himself deeply involved in the transfer strategy. Levy is still the main man in that respect.

whilst i agree these things are key, most other clubs are doing similiar whilst maintaining status quo. guess i'm just worried we are going to be watching performances like last season and last weekend all too regularly.last year was bloody miserable and struggling to see an improvement to our first 11.

Thanks Daniel. Broken heart. Very disillusioned with the club right now. We got worse in attack. Siggy and Holtby would have fit this system better than Lennon and Townsend yet we keep them when they provide absolutely nothing to the side. We marginally improved the defense. Thats it. Lost 2 fan favorites too. Very disheartening.

Pretty quiet day, disappointed in the lack of decent incoming players and really sad to see the beast leave , especially as he is now at qpr and not in Italy.

A disappointing but also interesting transfer window because it tells us so much about where the club is and its ambitions.
This doesn't seem like the transfer activity of a club who are pushing hard for a Champions' League place.
I wonder if Levy/ the board no longer consider a top 4 place as attainable and that chucking money about in pursuit of this goal isn't worthwhile.
The sort of players we have bought suggest that we are aiming to consolidate our 6th/ 7th place until the new stadium is built or the club is sold, whichever comes first.

No big player losses this window. First one in a while.
Got a Lamela getting better, got quite alot of unused potential from the others we bought last year. Got a young squad. Got a chairman not squandering our money. Got a new manager, that is supposed to improve players.

Never seen som many looking at the glas as half empty in one site before.
