if you take the team of sc darlings:

lloris
walker fazio vertonghen davies
capoue stambouli
lamela eriksen chadli
soldado
i'm not at all convinced it would beat the others:

vorm
dier kaboul chiriches rose
dembele bentaleb
lennon paulinho kane
adebayor
i think as long as lloris in goal, you could pick the other 10 out of a hat and it wouldn't make much difference to the quality of side we field.

I'd like to try this. Not in any important games, but just a tester of proof of concept:
---------------------Lloris------------------
----------------Fazio Verts--------------
Walker-----------------------------Rose
------Capoue Pauli Stambouli----
---------------- Eriksen--------------------
---Lamela---------------Chadli---------

Paulinho could be swapped with either Dembele or Bentaleb. Yes, I have included no striker. My though process being that we well have steel in midfield, be difficult to overrun in that position. Furthermore, our front three can have the flexibility to roam and interchange, with one of the midfield three (probably Paulinho) supporting and providing an anchor to an, at times, chaotic and unorganised attack. The flexibility is great but when the opposition do a good job limiting even on of their movements (as on Sunday), the whole plan sort of goes tits up.

The front three will have licence to be compact, with fullbacks providing cover on the wings, or spread out with the midfield taking care of logistics.

Like I said, I wouldn't try this in a big match, but I've always wanted to see how we would fare sacrificing a striker for an extra midfielder.

I'd love to see that match. And I always wonded if we'd have done better in a a match had we picked our 'second side.'

Hoping Fazio and Stambouli are improvements and Soldado comes good.

Lloris

Walker
Fazio
Chiriches
Davies

Stambouli
Capoue

Lamela
Eriksen
Chadli

Soldado

I like Paulinho so Eriksen can swap with Chadli Paulinho in the Middle however we lose defensively with Eriksen on the wing side.

Does anyone know how many of our 1st team squad is off for international duty this week? Hope to be minimal number so Poch can work with them on the new system.

Really haven't got a clue.

Lloris in goal is the only nailed on starter.

Walker gets benefit of doubt when fit. Although he will need to be on his toes as Dier looks capable.

Fazio has leader qualities and a few trophies to back him up. Expect him to be a starter.

Vertonghen is still playing off his good first season, but he is slow and dives in too much. Gets in because Kaboul is struggling to recover and Chiriches hasn't had a decent run in the side.

I would play Davies at LB. Thought Rose was poor against Livepool. Struggles when under pressure.

Poch quite likes Capoue, although having seen him play a few times now, we could have just kept Thudd.

The good looking Frenchman, I know nothing about. But Poch must have felt we needed someone like him as Holtby, Bentaleb, Dembele, Paulinho and Sandro could have played in the second CM role.

Lamela, Lamela, Lamela. Want him to do well so much. Gets the almightiest of Benefit of doubt.

Eriksen plays.

I don't rate Chadli. Townsend is frustrating and is showing no signs of improving. So for me I would go with Lennon who I think did well in pre-season.

Up top. Soldado, I would love to see him get another run in the side. I think him and Lamela link up well.

Don't think you're far off the truth there. I'd probably say, shift Dier to CB and play Naughton RB and you've got yourself a game!

At the end of the day it's got to be a positive.

I'd actually like to see Lennon come central a little more often. It's strange, but he seems to be able to slide a pass or beat a man better centrally than when he is wide. Has much more football intelligence than Townsend.

I'd probably pay full match fee to watch that game too…..

I was at both the QPR and Liverpool games, and all I seem to recall - was him passing the ball to his right every time he had it. That was it. Nothing else.

Other than Poch himself, I think I'm the only one that likes the combo of Capoue and Bentaleb. I'm not saying the latter should play all the premiership games but his potential is astounding. I've certainly noticed an upgrade and increase in the number of effective forward passing by him under Poch; with this mistakes will happen but the signs are good. Likewise Capoue covers so much ground and shows quality on the ball. I must be seeing something very different to others.

I hope we mix it up. Really think, against Liverpool, we should have matched their midfield 3 and gone with 3 of our CMs and played more 4-3-3. Normally, however, I would like to see 4-2-3-1.

This is my order of players for each position (for some, based only on reputation).

Lloris
Vorm
Brad

Rose
Davies

Fazio
Verts
Dier
Kaboul
Chiriches

Walker
Dier
Naughton

Stambo
Bentaleb
Capoue
Dembele
Paulinho
Mason

Eriksen
Lamela
Chadli
Kane
Paulinho
Lennon
Townsend
Cebellos

Ade
Kane
Soldado

I like Bentaleb too, still young but showing some great stuff for his age, especially as a DM. I think this is understated to a degree. I expect more from Capoue though, please watch the Liverpool game and show me one pass from him that isn't sideways. Unfortunately he doesn't offer much. Dembele should be starting in front of him, and if Dembele isn't fit enough, we really should be looking at the chairman or manager for replacements, given our expectations.

instead of Dier? Would be a bit harsh to drop him. If Walker is out long term we could probably squeeze him in.

My line up is fully fit players by the way.
He has been playing at RB not CB though. Fazio should start at CB to see what he can do and leaver Dier at RB for now.
