This has a draw all over it in my view. Southampton are playing well as their new players have seemingly clicked. Morgan has to be nullified in the middle of the pitch as he has cropped up with a few goals this season.

This should be an interesting game. Soton did well against Arsenal-but so did we.
4-4-2 and excitement is what I want-but I will settle for a scrappy win rather than a well played draw.
Only 1 win in our last 7 games and 2 consecutive home defeats. We really do need to get a win and a bit of confidence and momentum.
Edit: We need it-next game City away.

If we swap QPR for Norwich we are actually +1 points against same teams as last season. 2-2-2 against 2-1-3.
Goal diff 8-7 as against 5-10 last term.
So we have improved?????!!!

I'm just fed up of defeats or shit results before international breaks.

Although the 11 will be completely different (bar Lloris), I wonder if the old cliche of not enough time to prepare will rear it's ugly head again.

Getting to the point where it's silly but we actually need a win before it becomes an issue. Going to be a tough game but I think we can edge it.

The most interesting choices for me will be whether Adebayor and Dembele start. I don't think Poch would've had them sit on the bench midweek if he didn't intend on them starting this weekend, so I'm expecting a line-up like we saw against Sunderland, with the exception of Vertonghen starting.

I would expect to see Lloris; Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose; Mason, Capoue; Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli; Adebayor based on the team put out on Thursday. But Fazio and Kane had good games, and Dembele was impressive off the bench. Kaboul earned to keep his place in the PL team in the Arsenal game, but Adebayor has done nothing to warrant even a place on the bench lately and if Pochettino was being truthful when he said names mean nothing to him and that he'll pick players who deserve to play then Kane should start over Adebayor tomorrow.

Dembele did what he always does and look world class until he sees the opposition area and then he turns into a spaz.

Well I wouldn't use those exact words but....
Dembele is probably the most frustrating player since Jenas. It's there, but you know you are never gonna see it except maybe twice a season.

I must have missed Dembele's performance the other night. No, hang on, I do remember getting excited and then nothing happened. Dembele didn't do much either when he got near the box.

So who does everyone think is a better match-up against Wanyama and Schneiderlin: Capoue/Dembele or Capoue/Mason? I really think we need Dembele in their to tackle and hold the ball up against their two physical ball recyclers.

Keeping Tadic in check will also be key. He's their talisman, constantly completing dribbles and making key passes. It's a game Poch really needs to win in my opinion.

It's come to something when we're generally expecting to be beaten fairly comfortably at home by a quite-recently-promoted Southampton side, who in 2010 were in League One.

Still, I can't see us getting much. I'll be happy with a draw, but could quite easily see Southampton taking us apart, as despite the Arsenal performance we're still dodgy at the back and can't score for fuckery.

Depends on who plays - if Adebayor starts I'll have serious doubts for the first time about Poch. Hopefully Mason will get another start and Kaboul and Vertonghen can continue their form of last week. If Soldado or Kane start, along with those guys, we have a decent chance.

If Adebayor starts I think we have absolutely no chance at all.

I think we are just playing so poorly right now and Southampton are in a good run of form at the moment, plus this is on the back of a Europa League game, so I'd take a point now.

Hoping for...

Kane
Lamela Chadli Eriksen (no set sides, interchanging)
Capoue Mason
Rose Verts Kaboul Naughton
Lloris

After the latest results, we need a result here. It's the sort of game where our players need to stand up and make sure that if we don't win by playing well, we'll win by showing grit and determination.

Don't really know if we're capable of that. I fear we'll see another home game along the all-too-familiar pattern. If we should opt for an approach where we try and draw them out in order to counter, I reckon that the White Moan Lane faithful will suck the life out our players.

Going today and can't wait! Hoping for an early goal and good atmosphere as I rarely get to go!

Anybody got any advice on travel. I'm coming from elephant and Castle and was thinking of driving and parking in Stamford Hill or somewhere and getting the bus up. Or would I be better going by train?
