Where do you get the idea that "their money is tarnished" from?

Man Ure are some eight hundred million in debt, so hardly a bastion for footballing prudence, at least the billionaires are spending their own money and not borrowing on the scale of the Glaziers.

The only reason Man United are in debt is because the Glazers shifted every single penny of the money they borrowed to buy the club onto it, and take nice fat paychecks out of the club for doing their jobs. If they hadn't done that then Man United would be able to spend the kind of money only Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barca can throw around without backing from external sources.

I never mentioned financial prudence.
If you genuinely believe that Abramovich really did "earn" that 5-6 billion dollars of his "own money" or that Mansour really did take the billion $ plus he's spent at Man City out of his own bank account then, I'm sorry to say, you are being either naive or disingenuous. My final word: the money that both of them have put into their "vanity projects" was not acquired through "footballing business" but through outright theft (RA) or corruption and bribery (SM). So any trophies bought with such theft, bribery or corruption are indeed tarnished.

Read any book about any top manager or coach and it is quite clear that they breed a "defend as a team" ethos, not defend if your'e a defensive midfielder or wide player. Look at any great side and all ten outfield players defend when they do not have the ball.
Isn't that what he says directly after the part you highlighted?

Didn't we pay five million for Bale ( not quite sure on that one)? Big difference is signing what most on here have called "potential" for five of thirty million.
He was 10mil, 5 up front and 5 in add ons but Southampton fell on hard times and eaived us the 5 in add ons for 3mil.

People want to find all sorts of complex reasons for Lamela's poor performances but the truth is he's nowhere near as good as anyone thought. He's around the same level as Holtby and Sigurdsson, it's just that he cost a lot more and people got far too over-excited. Deserves to be dropped.

Why does he have more assists this season the any other player in our squad?

It's all very well coming out with stuff but it is ill informed at best and at worse lies.

I can't remember a Spurs player who loses the ball as often as Lamela in recent years. Good players just don't do that, however old, wherever they're from. And if Lennon or Townsend were costing us goals like him people would be demanding a public inquiry.
Like Liverpool?

Lamela had a mare. Kane should have come on at half time for him and Ade should have replaced Soldado- I just didn't see him having the great game that others saw. Both Lamela and Soldado are great players but are just not clicking for Tottenham...I dont know the solution except fot hard work and giving them chances..

When watching Aguero, I think about what a player Defoe could have been if he had half of Aguero's football intelligence. They have similar physical characteristics and both have a very powerful short with either foot and little backlift. But Aguero is 10 times the player because of his movement and intelligence of knowing when to shoot and pass.

It's a shame as Defoe could have been an amazing striker for us if he had been coached better and had the determination to improve.

We watching teh whole match yesterday I can't believe some of the shit the commentators came out with. Well I can, but the bit that stood out most for me was when Capoue accidentally stood on the guys heal and they were making out he did it on purpose.

Bloody disgrace. Plus the Aguero cock sucking was unbearable.

Lamela has most assists this season for us. So to say he is not delivering anything is nonsensical.

Admittedly he didn't have a good game against City though.

He also woks a hell of a lot harder in terms of defensive work and pressing than Townsend. And he is one of about 4 players in squad that seems to grasp Pochs pressing game and tries to implement it in regard to team pressing, triggers and cutting off passing channels (The others being Stambo, Mason and Paulinho although there is evidence that others are picking it up).

You only have to look at De Bruyne in Germany, he is easily leading the assist chart in the Bundesliga but only has a passing accuracy of something like 74%, because he always looking to make something happen which bears fruit (hence his and similarly Lamelas assists) but ends up giving the ball away reasonably often as he is the player taking a risk and trying to play the killer ball-taking responsibility for the transitional and attacking play.

I'm not saying that is ideal obviously, and his decision making in regards when to take risks should improve- but given that he loses the ball by trying to take responsibility is not a stick to beat him with, especially while he is being reasonably productive

However, he also seems to give the ball away with his first touch very regularly and almost every time he tries to beat his man.

So what do you suggest? Dropping him for Lennon or Townsend who have about one assist between them in the last 2 seasons?

Against weaker teams we need his creativity, but against the likes of Man City maybe 4-3-3 would be more sensible. At least until he improves the defensive and ballkeeping side of his game.

Tell city or chelsea fans and Im sure they wont give a Fuck cos when your winning stuff No body bats an eyelid.
I find it strange that anytime We get beaten by one of the wealthy clubs some of our fans harp on about they are not real clubs etc,but that is total BS i say good luck to them.
If someone wants to be ambitious and spend his or hers money they why not its then down to others to keep up or shut up.
When Bill nick spent big in building the great double team i bet nobody moaned then and for the best part of our history we were big spenders even paying more wages for gazza than Utd could, so We have not right to preach about spending big.

Absolutely not. I think we were a couple of selections and a tweak of tactics away from getting a result here today.
Chelsea look very good though.
Your having a laugh aren't you?
We conceded three penalties! Kaboul was getting spanked. Lloris kept it from being 6+ again. We're nowhere near them. If Aguerro has a soldado day they can bring on Dzeko or Jovotic. We've got three strikers who's combined totals won't get near one of theirs.
our fall backs are shit, theirs are class. Most of their midfielders would walk into ours.

You're kidding yourself.

Dont be silly.
Aguero "spanks" most defenders he is what you get when you can spend top money (a reported £1m per month tax paid). Lorris did well and so did Hart, both keepers did their job. We did OK on Saturday a bit of luck would not have gone a miss.
