He's one of the most frustrating players to watch, ever.
Maybe, but when you have given Townsend his first start this season and then gets replaced at half time, it does tend to question Pochs tactics and man management.

More of a selection issue than man management per se, but I know what you mean. Maybe poch is just experimenting until January and then gonna ruthlessly ditch the rubbish?? I gotta hang onto that tbh because it's just odd.

Not sure what poch is up to with his picks; dunno if he's trying to expose how inadequate the squad is or he's just making the wrong choices and being seduced by the image of players rather than what they're doing match-to-match.

Soldado should have started today instead of townsend. We simply have to go with where the chemistry is at and not try and force things that aren't working.

Don't get it; but I'm intrigued at what January will bring irt outgoings...maybe it will help explain his actions.

The bit in bold, i think you have given it too much thought, its still results driven regardless of what we have been told about the players on trial.
In General i just think he is very one dimensional, without his pressing style in evidence we look fairly clueless, these players aren't all shit, they can be coached to pass and move the ball better than we are currently, right now we would almost be better just playing on the counter, keeping the back four solid and pressing in some sort of organised manner.

Playing on the counter would definitely help to stabilise us.

I think he's just got too much misplaced faith in some of the players..he needs an epiphany.

I thought maybe he'd turned the corner after his performance midweek. He was just sloppy in the first half today, I don't understand how these players can't get themselves focused and it's not just Townsend. There must be more too it than "they're just shit". I think it has to do with the size of the squad, maybe it forces the players to try too hard in some cases because they're desperate to take their chance? There's more too it than that but it's a serious problem.

All these players have to do is simplify their game; do the simple things and build from there.

I don't understand them. They need to get it out of their heads that they are amazing and hence the game will inevitably come to them.

That's the first thing.

Seriously, I feel sorry for MoPo. He has inherited a squad with a lot of below average players and to make things worse for him, the other few average players he has are playing crap as well.
The only few players that do not fall into that category are Lloris, Mason, Kane, Chadli and to a lesser extant Verthongen. Other players who have had some (seldom) good patches are Rose, Eriksen, Kaboul and Capoue. Now that's not enough quality players to put together a good team, is it !?
This brings me to the point where I really believe that we need to give MoPo the time and space to work out a way to rebuild the team again. The question is, how long are we prepared to wait ? or rather, how long is DL prepared to wait before his patience runs out. What is a fact is, we cannot keep sacking our managers and then expect them to work with a bunch of overpaid amateurs who don't seem to give a sixpence if we lose.
Times are lean and very dim. I also know that it hurts us all so, so very much, to see Spurs in this dire situation.
However, sacking yet another manager, is not the solution. It will only make us go further backwards.

But, for the umpteenth time, pretty much these same players achieved 69 points last season (and during Sherwood's spell averaged just shy of two points a game). If they're so average, as you put it (or so shit, as others do, less politely), the only logical conclusion one can draw is that Sherwood was a misunderstood genius.

Obviously he was not, but clearly he got some important things right; we simply would not have got the results we did had this not been the case. Pochettino, by contrast, has got very little right at all, other than turning Rose into a half-decent LB. As a unit, we're shambolic, and several individuals are looking shadows of the players they were last season. What the hell has happened to Eriksen, in particular? Or Vertonghen? Ade's playing like he's in a coma. Soldado still looks like he couldn't score in Dwight Yorke's jacuzzi, and two or three nifty through balls a game aren't really much compensation. We've seen some exquisite touches from Lamela, but we need to see much more. Capoue? What's going on there? None of these players is average, never mind shit, but they're certainly looking that way. If it were one or two, it would be different, but virtually every member of the squad is underperforming.

Memories are short, aren't they? Despite 69 points being one of our best season's totals ever (=6th), some people—Lloris amongst them—felt we'd underachieved. A new manager, a man with a plan, a man with a system, a philosophy, would bring out the squad's potential. So the theory went, anyway, and Pochettino was that man, according to some.

People can't have things both ways; either the players are underachievers, or they're crap. There's no in-between in this.

We have nine league games between now and 1 January: Chelsea (twice), United, Everton and Swansea appear singularly uninviting; Hull, Palace, Leicester and Burnley should be 12 points sewn up, but right now none of them looks like a banker. Barring a quite remarkable turn-around, I would not bet the farm on Pochettino making any January signings.

Gone to put about 5 post match posts but then thought why bother. Whats the point. So I'll just go with this insightful, helpful thought, we are a total bloody shambles.
Aahhh I feel better already.

Wont be easy to do in January, experimenting whilst losing points is also pretty silly, i know you have written the season off but whatever Levy tells him i don't think bottom half is in his remit.

The best thing about today is that I made 50 quid on Lamela coming on at half time. The rest was blah.

This is true. I'm just shooting...dunno wtf is going on tbh. I'd rather he just gut the team and rebuild and be given time to do so.

Our defence is just so weak. Thats where poch needs to start. First problem is that kaboul is captain, hence hes supposed to play every match. Well, all of us can se that kaboul has turned to shit. We saw it 1,5 years ago. Hes not been the same since his long term injury. He needs to be dropped, permanently.
Also seems that neither fazio, davies or chirices are good enough.
Start ny sorting out our defensive problems.

Squad's a mess. Cant score. Can't defend. Can't keep a clean sheet. Can't keep or use the ball when we have it. Manager making odd decisions. Expensive players rotting in the stands because they're wrong purchases.

Not good all round. Levy likes to make money but he's wasted huge sums of it.

Yes pulis had a brief to keep them up in which case his achievements were more impressive then considering how quick he turned it around gaining 40 plus points out of about 45 i think.
Again i say we have not proggresed one bit if anything got worse now like all of us i Hope he turns it round but it looks like we have hired another Ramos.
No, we haven't and the comparison is incorrect. The only thing is that Levy thinks he's learnt some valuable lesson from that experience by insisting that MP speak without an interpreter, which makes him look stupid especially to those single IQ wankers in the the tabloid football press. MP will turn it around if he's given time.
