Ive got to be honest, I respect that the Josifs have a business to run and protect but to take this as far as they have, holding up the regeneration of an area they know is in desperate need of a cash injections is purely selfish.

Spurs and Haringey Council must have put packages together way above and beyond the acceptable, or else we would be fighting CPO's with all the other previous land owners.

Greed has bred a monster, and in this instance, Its the little guy, not the big corporate machine!
i read on another forum, that the going rate for that bit of land is around £1.8m....and that they were after circa £20m...if those numbers are even remotely close then i think you've hit the nail on the head.

If it was a fire bomb then it must have been started at around 5:00am, presumably a fire bomb flares up quickly, therefore it seems that any arsonist must have got up nice and early just to do it or stayed awake all night in order to do it at that time, I just can't help thinking that if I was going to do it I'd do it late at night or early hours, a crazy drunk witha a grudge would surely not wait until early morning a little while before staff arrived, crazy drunks, in my experience do things late at night don't they?
At least it happened just before staff started arriving rather than having arrived, thats a lucky coincidence I guess.

It is strange, given that their business doesn't appear to be particularly location-dependant.

Just had some itk.

A plumber just came round to fix some pipes of mine. As he was leaving he asked had I heard about the fire ( I'm wearing my spurs hoody ) and I said of course. He said his best mate lives next door to one of the brothers and knows they were up to their eyeballs in debt.

The plumber isn't a spurs fan or even a football fan but knows from his mate and his old man who used to be in the Catering business that archway has been losing money for years.

When I mentioned the CPO was ours in two months anyway he was amazed then laughed. No accusations of course but I think a crazed spurs fan may be responsible for this. Just not a crazed spurs fan with the stadium as his m.o.

Not knocking your info mate but i know the guy who's engaged to the owners daughter. They recently bought him a brand new Mercedes 500 CL AMG. If they was up to their eyeballs in debt, would they be spending £80k on a car for their future son in law.

Just a random plumber dude. I have no feelings to be hurt in anyway on this.

What I would say is that can actually reinforce his spoutings. A failing business doesn't necessarily mean skint owners. If they have borrowed loads of wedge on the back of it in the knowledge they expected a big payout from Spurs then it would make sense for them to have ready money.

Of course it's equally reasonable to assume they are minted and the kebab industry is buoyant and growing.

who knows but this geezer didn't seem on the wind up.

One thing I was always told was beware the owner splashing the cash when you suspect they are in trouble. Purchases can be made and allocated to people and not be touched should the proverbial shit hit the fan, so to speak

Forgot to mention i drove past Paxton Road about 1hr ago. Its still cordoned off with police tape and fire brigade still at the scene. Not sure if it will effect Thursdays match.

Yeah, they probably would tbf. Especially if they know that one way or another they have a massive windfall on the way.

Exactly, their warehouse could be anywhere and their business would be the same. Whilst the fire cannot be condoned (if it does transpire to arson), Archway's stance demonstrates everything that is wrong with the UK planning system

I will state with some confidence that if it was set from inside it would have to have been a professional job. That factory's quite a little fortress (just getting over the fence without a ladder would be beyond many people). Those shutters on the ground floor windows are seriously heavy-duty, and the place is bound to have been alarmed. The only way Joe Bloke could have done it would have been a petrol bomb through one of the first-floor windows on the street side.

A drone maybe?

Right, before I drop my 2 cents, I have to ask, am I likely to be banned if I insinuate the fire may have been a inside job if not an angry fan? Because I did that over on COYS and got banned for it, so just checking before I wade in.
