I'm not saying his decision making will definitely improve, I do have a feeling that he's been somewhat scarred by the whole first season experience, and is not playing freely and naturally, a mixture of trying too hard, and playing a bit anxiously. Is he really a number 10 either considering his decision making in the final third is abysmal - or relatively so considering his price tag.
He doesn't possess a great amount of pace, nor beats his man. Hasn't got a great passing range coupled with some atrocious underhit/overhit decision making in the final third and currently doesn't look like developing into a prolific goal scorer from wide either.
Look, I'm not saying he's complete and utter horse shit but he needs to display an awful lot more than what he's currently serving us with and IMO is classed with Dembele - style over substance.
Gary or Phil Neville?
Gary Neville is superb, in my opinion.
Jesus how many more times, it wasn't 30 big ones.Lamela was already playing a prominent role at a top club in a top league before coming over to us.
Appreciate there has been huge upheaval at this club in a relative short space of time but how much more does Lamela have be fucking molly-coddled before we get a semblance of what we splashed 30 million big ones on him for?!
Jesus how many more times, it wasn't 30 big ones.
Modric first season in Madrid they thought they bought a dummy.
Funnily enough we said the same when he first came here.
We soon changed our tune as did Madrid fans.
Modric came from a team that had got to the CL quarter finals.
See a pattern here?
I think he will.not really, no. modric got better so lamela will?
i've supported lamela from the beginning but i have to admit, i'm wavering a little now. i thought he'd be starting to get it by now but if anything he just looks lost whilst the game frantically goes on around him.
Am I the only one here who isn't recognising the pattern between Lamela's progress and Modric at Real Madrid?!Jesus how many more times, it wasn't 30 big ones.

i would not argue particularly on a 1 - 1 comparison but it is about the team more than the players
Last night Chelski showed that they are not a team in the making but have been playing this way for a while Costa and Fabregas were simply improvements on previous personnel I happen to think that Matic makes a difference ( as did Yaya Tuore for Citeh last season) We do need a dominant player in that hub role Mason and Bentelab are doing well for youngsters but are a bit of a way off at present.
i also think the full backs are very important parts of their team Looking forward to Walker and Davies making more of their role in future
We couldn't afford to spend that kind of money and not get a substantial return within six months, tt, let alone two seasons. I think that regardless of however good he might go on to be, he was the not the player we ought to have bought.
Putting his price tag to one side, I am sticking to my guns in saying that we haven't much choice but to persist with him when you look at the lack of attacking options we have.
Of course they can play in the same team. Gerrard and Lampard could play in central midfield for England. Was it he the best balance and blend for the team though?Edit
And he and Eriksen can play in the same team.

Soldado - NET. Personally I think it was madness not starting him. After all this time and he finally scores, even if he didn't score tonight just to maintain his confidence that he earned his spot. Same happened last year and it backfired, hope won't be similar. Think it was really odd decision.
Of course you do, because you like little touch players, who come to the ball, and like to get on it often. The problem is that these players need options who run off the ball and create targets for their passing. Otherwise we just end up with three No 10s fannying about in the space outside the penalty area going straight into the defenders' banks of four. It's so easy to defend against.Neither Gerrard or Lampard should ever had played a CM2, especially not as a pair.
I think Eriksen and Lamela are fine in the same attacking 4. And I would take them two over any combination with Lennon or Townsend in most weeks.
I am annoyed with our transfer committee. He might be the type of player we should be buying but is he the player we should have bought?I think he is absolutely the type of player we should be buying - young, clearly talented, has desire, but unfulfilled potential - we just over paid.
And the simple truth is, what he offers a team is still an upgrade on the likes of Lennon and Townsend. So you are completely correct when you say we have to put his price tag to one side and play him.
He's the same player whether paid 25m or 2.5m, so now it's all about who's best for the team.
If you're bird came home and said she'd paid £30 for a potato who would you be more pissed off with, her or the potato ?
Edit
And he and Eriksen can play in the same team.

Do me a favour, and get serious...Doesn't seem to be doing Chelsea much harm.
