With regard to Adebayor. I think football is way down the list of his priorities and money and other outside interests appear to be at the forefront, which is not the best preparation to play in such a competitive league.

I don't know who adquyid is. Is it essential to pass on your source to.mods? If it is I won't post anymore about Adebayor. I'm not looking to upset anyone. I am not an in the know by any means. Just thought some may be interested. CERTAINLY NO HARM INTENDED SO I APOLOGISE FOR ANY OFFENCE CAUSED.
You know it is because you had a PM about it several days ago.
Ignore the plastic mods and the csi posters mate.

You've broken no rules and have no reason to apologise. I enjoy your posts as do many others.

I hope you continue to post freely.
That's not at all correct.

Anyone wanting to post ITK needs to confirm and verify their sources before doing so. Without exception. That's been made cleearThe poster above has been asked to verify his sources with us and i'm taking the fact that he's chosen to ignore my PM as a refusal to do so. That's his choice but as has been made clear to him, the consequences of that are that he can keep what he's heard to himself.

Wow. Ok.

Does that mean if I get news snippets I shouldn't post them before getting your permission before I do?

Surely if someone spouts itk on anything ( not just Spurs ) time will tell and let them wither on the wind?

Not trying to change the system just trying to understand the system.

If someone wants to regularly post ITK (as is the case with the poster in this instance) then they need to verify their sources with us. It isn't a foolproof method but it does help us sort out/deter the WUM's/emotionally unstable who might want to amuse themselves by bullshitting .

We've often had people who have got 'one-off' snippets of info post without verifying and we've no problem with that.

I think by posting something and showing a source i.e. 'seen this on eurosport/bbc sport...' you are providing a valid reference or source.

If you jump on a forum and live in a fantasy world pretending to know inside information, it can be misleading and damaging. I think @Archibald&Crooks is saying that if you don't want to reveal a source publicly, then you need to do so via PM to the mods just so they can know you're not just ruffling feathers.

Quite. And we do make it very clear that anything we are told with regard sources stays strictly confidential.

ITK should also be posted in the Read Only ITK Forum or the ITK Discussion Thread in order that as many people as possible get to share it. It shouldn't be posted anywhere else as it makes managing it all too difficult.

Cool.

I didn't realise it was taken so seriously. I honestly thought everyone took any itk with a shovel full of salt. And certainly didn't realise there was a dedicated mod whose job it was to weed out the nutters.

Is there a pie chart of established itk's knowledge available for us lessers to sift through the detritus and debris of past said itk's aspersions?

Imo. I didn't think the poster was posting regularly. He just said the same thing that seemed to resound.

And more importantly seems true.

I actually think someone who is willing to reveal their source to you guys is more likely to be a wum....

Fair enough and no problem. I should not have over stepped the mark and A & C is spot on. No more about this now.

Regarding the pm, That may have been picked up by my lad but if it was he did not tell me. He's out at the minute.

Sorry for any trouble or confusion caused.

The maddening thing with Ade is he could be the player to fire us to Champions League football if he puts his mind to it. I don't think he will unfortunately and he might well not even get the chance to even try unless both our other strikers get injured.

In two of his seasons his goals and assists have been largely responsible for getting us into the Europa League (and in 2012 it would have been the CL if Chelsea hadn't pulled off a colossal fluke). In 2012-13 he was poor until the last couple of months, this season he's been pretty much out of it. An inconsistent striker! You don't see many of those! The people who've been talking about Huntelaar and Gignac should take a look at their records, and the ones who go on about Adebayor's contribution and value for money and then wimp on about 'Poor' Bobby, who cost £26m, probably gets something approaching Ade's wages a week and has done pretty much the square root of fuck all in a season-and-a-half need to get real.

His strike rate in the league is 39%, the same as Berbatov's, fractionally better than Keano's, fractionally worse than Teddy's and VdV's. 16 assists is none too shabby, either. I'd say that's not a bad return at all, pretty good, in fact. His record could be better, should be better, but a 'wage thief'? Arse biscuits. A whole pile of them.

The argument is similar to that of Redknapp's demise. Finished 4th, which was excellent in isolation, but in reality he missed a fine opportunity to challenge for the PL title. Took his eye off the ball.

Adebayor scores a lot of goals, now and again, but also has spent a lot of time not scoring goals or doing a lot of alleged things off field.

Spurs fans love players and managers for their efforts, rather than their contributions. It's sort of understandable, because with both examples above people get annoyed about how we could be so much more if those capable of taking us forward put in a bit of effort consistently

I have made the point about perception before. It is tallbloke-ist.
Defoe is a little bloke and when he runs his little legs are going a million miles an hour and he looks busy. Fans think he is trying hard and they love him.
Ade and Pav are tall and elegant and have a loping stride and are classified as lazy and not caring.

He's about the same height as Harry K, so it's not an extremity to be fair.

I think the problem with Adebayor is very similar to Harry, as in they don't/didn't do an awful lot to help themselves off field in respect to the perceptions.

Ade is a talented footballer and has done good things for us, at a cheap transfer cost too, but even I'll admit I am dumbfounded by the lack of opportunity he takes to throw water on the fire now and again (i.e. what he chooses to say in the public domain, the way he uses social media).

Are the majority just out for him with no justification or cause? O is he his own worst enemy?

He is a prize mug..but all I am interested in is THFC. IMO he can score goals in a 4-4-2 and I can't wait until he and Harry start together.
If we can get a better player(s) than him in then he can FRO. But getting better players than him is extremely and I mean extremely difficult.

depends though, as if they can't (allegedly) get along off the pitch, I'm not sure that the two of them would get on that well on it?
At the moment, I'd take any striker that doesn't have a soap opera lifestyle.

Perfectly put.
