Best performance in a white shirt today. Broke everything up and moved the ball quickly. Him, Mason and Bentaleb all seem like Poch players to me. Agree with above poster about Capoue and Dembele being available. Doubt we can get one, let alone both out before the end of Jan but don't expect either to be Spurs players in September
Still not sure I like him much at all.
Fucking hell guys, I didn't realise this post was so offensive.Still not sure I like him much at all.
I watched the whole game, he was decent against a side who brought no midfield pressure, like how they allowed Dembele the freedom of WHL or when QPR came to town amd gave Capoue licence to do as he pleased. If you don't like him after today's performance you'll never like him. I thought he was outstanding today.
The highlights on both bbc and Sky showed about 7% of what he actually did. Anyone who watched his performance today couldn't have been anything but impressed.
Against Sunderland - probably his best game for Spurs in PL till now.
Having said that, I still dont think he is good enough to start for us but he would be ahead of Dembele though in the pecking order.

I guess now is the time for a Stambouli love in after one game where he wasn't completely pointless! Shite against Palace and Burnley away but half decent against Sunderland at home and all of a sudden hes off limits.
Didn't realise it was such an unpopular opinion, should've posted it in the amnesty thread!
Did my post write him off?Agree, 3rd choice though, for me.
Jeez, no need to get so worked up. I agree he needs to show more but, if he plays like he did yesterday, he has a good chance of making it with us. Of course, one swallow doesn't make a summer, but surely you saw something about him you liked?
I think the issue with posts like yours is that we seem to be making a habit of writing players off far too early (like Kane) when we should be getting behind them. Also, it was one line, if you don't like a player, maybe tell us why. Is it his passing? Positional play? Dribbling?

One game doesn't convince me hes got the package required.
I need more positive contributions against teams that want to be combative in midfield and press the ball. Like Palace last week and Burnley before. I really don't see why seeing yesterday as an anomaly performance from Stambouli is so controversial. Give it a couple of standard Stambo performances to date and the consensus will change again I'm sure. There is such a thing as a positive knee jerk.Fair enough big boy but the point remains if you don't think much of him after the way he played yesterday, your opinion is unlikely to change. He can only play against who he's put in front of, Sunderland are no mugs though. They hustle & bustle and he out-hustled & bustled all of them. Reminded me of Sandro's performances and it's the sort of performance I hoped Capoue would be putting in on a regular basis (and still might). If he carries on like this, he'll be excellent for us but of course he has to prove it in the big games too. But as with most of our buys, we shouldn't judge until the 2nd season at the very least. With Mason & Bentaleb coming on like they are, Stambouli, Dembele, Paulinho & Capoue are all gonna have to up their game to stay in the team and to be fair, they all seem to be at the moment, so it's all good for Spurs.
Did my post write him off?
I'm just still not sure about him. Writing off is a pretty far cry from.that.

A bit like Sandro in that he gets booked because he gets carried away trying to look heroic in front of us fans (even more so because he is new to the club and probably wants to be more accepted/liked). He will grow out of that mindset and become an excellently rounded footballer I'm positive.Capoue was cramping his style v Burnley and when Dembele went off he improved today.
Good tackler, confident, skilful-passes the ball FORWARD and ...didn't get booked today!!
*I don't mean as bad as the shriveled sack face of Diego Costa.
