No, he wasn't in the AIA cup squad, so he's for sale (per itk).

"Younes Kaboul, Vlad Chiriches and Paulinho have been given permission to remain at the Training Centre, while Emmanuel Adebayor and Etienne Capoue have been granted leave to return home for family reasons."

http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/aia-cup-squad-250515/

The article also fails to mention Lennon at all, and we have heard nothing on him since his loan to Everton. I'd assume he is also gone as well.

All have been told they have no future with us going forward(this happened back in Feb/March). Still it's not a case that they are the ones that will go, and all the rest will stay. I doubt very much we will shift all of them, and there are plenty that travelled that could still be sold should we get the right offers for them. We do not have to sell in order to buy.

Would also add I have asked about Ayew, but was told nothing has changed on that front. We looked at him a while back and that is as far is it went.

Cheers as usual for the update.

In my opinion, respect is a two-way street. Okay, let's surmise that all the bullshit in the papers is true; Nabil Bentaleb is a first team, top 5, midfielder on 8k a week who's been trying to negotiate a new contract for 9 months. In that scenario, it doesn't sound like the Club has a lot of respect for him does it? All I'm saying is that people shouldn't just jump on the "Nabil is an arsehole" bandwagon just because of one or two newspaper stories.

Levy has got a decent reputation for negotiating young players contracts - and doesn't have a problem with re-negotiating them with a healthy increase a year later if the player has developed.

I'd hazard a guess that 9 months ago (start of the season), if Bentaleb was on £8k, then the negotiations might well have been to increase to say £15k pw - with a clause confirming the club would 'review' in 12 months time for example.

And that would have been a sensible contract to sign.

However obviously that kind of offer was not accepted and Bentaleb has clearly improved over those 9 months as a foottballer and component in the team - so I'd imagine Levy would have increased his offer several times over the season to reflect that.

What's the offer on the table now - don't know but if Kane is on £45k maybe the offer is say £35k (and with an agreement to review that in 12 months time).

And again its a decent offer to accept - nobody knows if Bentaleb is going to continue to improve (we all hope he does), and if he does Levy has a reputation for renegotiating upwards the wages in 6 months or 12 months time

.

Beg to differ there, have 3 twenty year old children, 21, 22 & 23. elder 2 graduated with good degrees [2.1's] and the youngest [21 year old] had his final economics exam this monday. Going into his finals he was on course for a first.

As their father I can tell you that wisdom comes through a combination of experience and intelligence, and at 20 they don't have a lot of experience.
Nice parenting dad. ;)

Yup, and there is a reason why 'coming of age' used to be considered to be 21....and in practice people of say 23/24 think 21 year olds lack wisdom and knowledge of the world !

Sooo malcontents and non tour goers out(wonder if that includes walker), yedlin not being a training warrior(although i could swearthere was itk abd brad's quotes from like march or april saying different) but playing well in the friendlies, lloris staying(lets see if that lasts through the summer), bentaleb staying, no ayew or schneiderlin, mysterious new signing about to be announced. Missing anything?

Solid day for itk thus far. Hope it continues.

Still confused on what players we're actually looking at, what positions we're after and if their first team wuality or not. Because, to me, the last 2 signings(assuming Trippier is the mystery guy), neither are the first team quality we need(except possibility trippier starts, and one is at a position we dint need atm(seriously, i couldnt be more confused with RB right now - we have walker, yedlin, and kwp with fredericks probably being sold. We have a more than capable alternative at RB in Dier also. Truly baffled as to why we're trying to clog up the position even more, unless trippier means walker is out). I just have no clue what poch is trying to do this window besides trying and failing for schneiderlin again all summer.

Mlst dissapointingly, it seems we arent after leadership or much experience either even though its something we desperately need

Walkers injury issues are a real concern.

I think it makes sense. Walker has serious injury issues and has been a bit rubbish for a while now, Yedlin allegedly isn't impressing in training and is inexperienced, while Dier is a CB shoehorned into RB as a last resort. Why not bring in a proven RB with a bit of a pace and a good cross for £4 million (or whatever we're being quoted)? At worst he's a solid backup and at best he makes the position his own and gets a ton of assists for Kane.

hertyid on hugo: If he goes it will be for huge money, there is such a lack of GK in the world right now, it's all the scouts talk about.

And so it begins.

May: "He ain't going nowhere, we won't sell and he wants to stay."

June: "If he goes it will be for big money."

July: "Hugo has had his head turned, Daniel won't sell though, we are in a strong position and he is on a long contract."

August: "What choice did Levy have? The player forced our hand and you don't want a player with a bad attitude in the dressing room around our young squad, at least we got over the odds for him and have a bit of time to find a replacement, the club probably already have one in mind."

September: "Master stroke by Levy getting Friedel to come out of retirement. He is still a top keeper and we do have a stadium to pay for, we don't want to do a Leeds do we? At least we can take some time to scout and get a top keeper in January rather than panic buy".

Low balling, high selling Levy at his very best.

Shortage of GK's? Even in America? Christ, America. The one thing we're half good at in football and we're slacking. Producing good GK's is what we're decent at, FFS!:cautious: Get your shit together, US;)

Really though, isnt there some young German whose supposed to be pretty good? Horn or something?

This is so sad and funny but true. I want to cry:(

Hey Brad, if you, by chance, read this, fancy staying around another year?

Horn, Fährmann, Adrian (from West Ham)? But we've got no ITK linking us to goalies, that at least is something to cling to.

I imagine the point is that it's a position with the most gaps between quality levels. There are just flat out rather large dropoffs between goalkeepers in the levels of Neuer, Lloris, de Gea, and Courtois down to even promising ones such as Ter Stegen, Leno, Horn, Krul etc and then yet another sizable rung to very raw guys like Mvogo, Karius, Burki, etc; and then difficult furthermore to compare them to more established but less gifted players such as Guzan or the ArsePole. It's just not like other positions, in which there are considerably more options for each one and then much smaller gaps between talent levels.
