If you have read this forum that long, you would have at least a vague idea over how many plan As have fallen through, and how many plan Bs have not happened because we spend too much time failing with plan A. When did we last secure a typical plan A sining? NOT counting those who simply happened by sheer dumb luck. When did we last sign a typical plan d-z signing? Hmm...
That's not the only problem. MS won't commit to Spurs and waits around all summer for a move to Utd or Ars. We continue to sniff around thinking he hasn't said no to us. Which might be true but we're basically his fall back option. In the meantime Kramer and Imbula are being approached by other clubs. It really is a game of poker but hopefully we don't miss out on all 3 signings.OK so that ITK just confirms what we already know it seems.
Our DM list looks to be:
1.Schneiderlin
2.Kramer
3.Imbula
I think it's great we seem to be pretty organised at this stage, but Imbula strikes me as a vastly different style of player to Kramer and Schneiderlin, so it can't just be me who thinks he's a pretty odd 3rd choice?
Wouldn't mind that at all.
Some don't like him, but I really do.

Exactly what I was hoping we wouldn't do anymore. Opposite of for instance Trix's view, I think we should go all in for the best choice of those who we *know* want to come. Rather than spend so much time failing on plan A that plan B players all become unavailable in the meantime, when they in fact could have wanted to sign. I'd rather Spurs succeeded with plan B right away than failing with plan A, B, C before landing D.
1: I have just had a fucking wisdom tooth out
2: I'm still feeling mellow due to the warm glow of donation love
So as you can imagine, i'm torn with how to react over this thread heading toward Mason chat (again)
We'll end up with McCarthy you watch

With the reported fee for Imbula I don't see why we can't throw several extra million at Southampton or Leverkusen as Schneiderlin is a proven and has performed exceptionally well in the premier league, whilst Kramer is a young German international and has performed very well at Monchengladbach in arguably the 2nd toughest league in the world. Whereas Imbula looks a cross between Zokora and Paulinho and is potentially a €18-25m disaster. Spending circa €30m on Schneiderlin or €20-25m on Kramer is much safer than spunking a huge sum on someone who plays in a pretty poor league.
Im not sure Chadli, Vlad or Capoue were plan A's. And I am fairly confident that Lamela only came off since Chelsea stole Willian. Two Summers ago we signed seven plan A players, and look what happened with the majority of them.
We've messed it up a couple of times admittedly, most notably in the infamous Berbatov/Frasier Campbell window, but that doesn't mean we should either throw loads of money at the plan A just to make it happen or give up completely on the plan A in the first place.
I like the fact that from the ITK it sounds like we've got a few options. Sounds like a very sensible way to do things at this early stage in the window so that come middle of July (suspect very little will happen before then) we're ready to get things sorted one way or another.
