This is the dilemma. Someone made a good point about Chelsea's ST purchases (Remy, Drogba, Falcao) due to Costa being the main man, you need someone capable of stepping up but also willing to take a back seat, or even more ideally can play in the three behind the striker. Probably the hardest decision to make for our scouts.

Nice one. But wasn't Keane a star player for us? When did he leave? I must admit that I thought there were more - but at the moment can't think of any. Who did we sell in 2009, 2010, and 2011?
It may be more accurate to say that we have had essentially net spend years for a long time. If we are to acquire decent talent this summer then we may have to let a star leave.

Keane left in July 2008 (same window as Berbatov) then returned 5 months later.
2009 - Zokora, Gunter, Bent, Chimbonda, KPB
2010 - Taarabt
2011 - Crouch, Pav, Palacios, Hutton, Keane (2nd time), O'Hara, Woodgate
My post was NOT this! It was a resonable (indeed I suspect correct) derivation about who JJ's ITK comment about potch being backed (now MS is off the table) refers too. Backed up by a more reliable paper link to bolster my derivation and some information abn about Portos buying which further Bolsters the link!
Wow...talk about beating up on the newbie to make some bizare kind of point. My post was more on topic than virtually every other post in the last 3 pages of this thread.

Whoa......Whoa.....pun runs are always on topic. They are the glue that holds this thread together. Or wait.....is that actual ITK? Probably more the latter if I am honest. But pun runs are highly prized by a majority of Spurs Community. And by majority, I mean myself. And if I am honest, I kind of only like them because I am an idiot.

We have seen in the very recent past that buying players doesn't necessarily improve you. Continuity with players and coaching staff could improve us more. I am not looking at Liverpool with any fear having virtually revamped their team it will take them a while to gel and sort out tactics. You could shut the window now and I would be confident of being a better team than last season.

Ok so the itk seems positive (not sure a few in here agree judging by the gloom) and generally im quite relaxed and feeling positive for next season. Yes we would all like our shiny new play things now but lets remember the players dont report back until next week anyway. Its like knowing what you are getting off santa weeks before christmas but having to wait until the big day to get them. There really is no mega rush just yet
