Maybe a long shot for Belgian forwards, but what about that Obi Oulare kid we were linked to a month or so back, playing at Club Brugge? He is like 18/19 years old, 6ft 5 and bags of pace. Getting a lot of likenings to Benturkey and Bukakku, would be a pretty low-risk transfer initially with the fee being probably around £5m-£7m? With the potential to become a monster of an attacker...

Or it could be Batshuayi...
Or Mertens...
bukkake?

I reckon we're in line for another funtime friday....either stambouli going or someone coming in (or both!)

Liking the Jasper's info and JJ's subsequent agreement that the search for a striker is very much still on. I think we need that position sorted more than any other in the squad, so it would probably do my blood pressure some good to hear more whispers on the ITK grapevine that the striker search is making progress and likely to be successful. But if keeping things under tight wraps helps us get the deal done then that would be a worthy sacrifice for an eventual Stoof stamp.

Jasper on SO

McCarthy is itching to come to us. My own opinion based upon certain snippets is we wouldn't want to pay what Everton would want, but does not mean a deal cannot be done. Guess what? They really want Azza (A Lennon). It is how much we value Azza against what cash we are prepared to offer on top for McCarthy (Macca). Makes me laugh when Martinez says he does not need to balance the books. Has he spoken to Bill? He thrives on keeping in the black. If he for example got offered good money for Macca he would take it and stress to Martinez why he had to take the offer and would have a couple of players for him to choose at a good price. In other words Bill trades a player, brings another in and still in profit.

Levy vs. Bill Kenwright.

I'm expecting McCarthy + cash in exchange for Lennon (loan with no option to buy).

Although I doubt the other Belgian is Dries Mertens (not really in the young and great potential category) it is commonly known here in Belgium that Vertonghen and Dries are close friends. And it's been reported he seems available for transfer.

Mccarthy stuff sounds positive. However the interest from City concerns me. After missing out on Delph they will still want a homegrown player for that position. He seems like an obvious choice. Thing is, if city want him they will pay the money while we are still haggling with Everton.

Is he homegrown? He played in scotland.
