Yeah, he was only quality for 6 months but I think it was the tragic circumstances of his brother being murdered that seemed to understandably affect his game, but I would say Gallas who was the 18 months after was next after Parker. That's three players out of the 23 PL experienced players signed in 6.5 years.

Agree

He has some way to go yet tactically, but he has the potential to be one of the best managers we have had, he has a ruthless streak which is a good thing

With his players coming in to his own specific weighting, his tactics will flow more freely through the team on match-day.

Could argue Kaboul, up to last year, brad, crouch, keane. Appreciate we're not really in last 2yrs there though!

As for being uninspiring, every decent team needs water carriers, players who know their job, are reliable and give it to the match winners in the side. Nothing wrong with a bit of that...

McCarthy has 177 PL appearances inc coming off the bench.

Brad you could argue had a positive influence on the squad and a decent season in net, but he didn't make a positive difference on the 1st team on a regular basis. Kaboul had 1 and a bit good seasons out of 6, that is not consistent. Crouch was average, Keane was shocking 2nd time around.
