I've held my tongue for long enough.

Can the ITKs stop being selfish and tell us who we're signing so I can sign them of FIFA.

I'm trying to be as realistic as possible on it, for example I'm putting Adebayor on the transfer list but also increased his contract to £400k a week and ignoring all transfers, so he picks up his wages for free just like in real life the ****

Personally...

i am excited, and hopeful we will get some else in from Germany, would be a good buddy for Wimmer, and will help each other settle into life in london.

Hope the reports about us sending a team to germany is true. fingers crossed i guess

He wasn't just premature with info, he came out with outright lies. Like saying how Gio was looking really good in training, when Gio was actually in Mexico with the national team at the time.

He was a wum who seemingly spent his weekends self-medicating then basking in the attention he'd receive on Twitter.

I was being nice :D

Would much rather have someone who knows the league than an unproven player, certainly for a substantial fee...what's the big deal with Germany? I'm still wary after Kevin Prince Boateng!

Been burnt too many times with 'talented' imports! Even the good ones took time to acclimatize, think we need additions that are ready to hit the ground running this time around.

KPB is and always has been a talented player, however he wasn't very much mature and has always had issues. I'm pretty sure the likes of Kramer have a better mentality to go with their talent

I'm not saying there isn't quality there, I just think there's always more of a gamble about players adapting...especially when they're signed late on. Look at the likes of Soldado, Lamela, Chiriches, Stambouli and Capoue recently. Came with reputations and talent and haven't really seemed to adapt well or have already left. Even our best imports in Modric and Betbatov took time to adjust. Lately it's only really Eriksen that has came off as a real success with Vertonghen and Lloris before him. We've missed more than hit with foreign/unproven EPL players recently.

Wimmer has been with the squad a good while now which will help him, Toby and Trippier both have experience in the league. I'm not saying there aren't players out there that could do well, but I do think a proven Premiership player or two will really help us to make an immediate impact. McCarthy would be one I'd like most as despite his age he has a wealth of experience and with Mason, Eriksen and Bentaleb could sort our midfield out for the foreseeable future.

Would love to know who are our primary targets with respect to this. Every transfer is a gamble, just some riskier than others. To have any chance of competing for that elusive CL place I think we need everyone to start well. Fingers crossed whoever we get in can help us do that.

Can't say our Premier League buys have set the world on fire either.
Sweeping statement to say because The Prince was a bit iffy in our shirt that all Germans will be. You can't tar everyone with the same brush. Everyone is different and have their own merits.
You mention Modric and Berbatov. They may have been slow starters but turned out to be some of the best players in the world, same with Bale.
For every Van Der Vaart you may get a Van Der Meyder.
Very silly to write someone off because a fellow countryman didn't work out.
On that theory we should not have got Lloris because of Stephan Dalmat?

I'm excited just thinking about McCarthy. I don't love him but I do respect how he plays his game. He's not flashy but he's effective (which is what we need in the middle).

Also quite excited about the Berahino whispers. If we can get both I'll be very happy. I don't think we need big names from foreign leagues this summer, I think we need a couple solid players that we know can do a job from the first day. No bedding in period, no acclimating to a new league, none of that. Bring them in and give them a run in the squad.

Lamela at the top of his game is very unpredictable. Unfortunately we don't see that side of him too often. Kane was unpredictable at first because he was an unknown quantity but once he started making headlines he was public enemy no. 1 for every one of our opponents. If we can get Berahino in we'll add some more unpredictability to our attack - something that can only help Kane, Eriksen, and Lamela find space.

I'm all in for these two. £15 for McCarthy and £30 for Berahino. Another £10 for Soldado out because even though he was shit I love him and feel for him.

Let's wrap these up Levy, you have my blessing.
Excellent. I too give my blessing.

In the General Football Forum i'm sure there's a thread about what might be the worst transfer in football history. If not, creat one, i'm sure it'd be popular.

Think you need to re-read what I said as you seem to have missed my point, although I do happen to think that it's often the case that overseas players are far more often overrated lately than comparable Premier League players.

If we are going for imports, would obviously prefer them in sooner than later like Wimmer to give them a good chance of making an earlier impression.

It's not about nationality by the way, it's about the fees we'd be gambling with...I only mentioned Germany because of the scouting trip etc. Though personally I'd much rather see McCarthy and Berahino than comparable Bundesliga imports...and I'm not saying they're all Boateng's/shite/anything negative either.

Humility is a far overlooked attribute in modern football and McCarthy has bucket loads of it. I'm interested to see how it develops before the end of the window. Very useful player to add to our squad, has immense PL experience for his age, and He's at the age were an opportunity to step up to a bigger team could catapult his career. If not, he'd do well as cover for Bentaleb and Mason. So either way it's a win win situation for us.

Is there any legs in these German links or yet to news confirmed by anyone ITK?

Some of the early ITK suggested we'd be looking to Germany for players. I don't think any particular players were mentioned by ITK. The players mentioned are more the result of guess work as far as I can tell.
