Obviously Dembele being deeper isn't ideal (much prefer him more advanced), but I think Poch will opt for experience at OT given our lack of options for CM at present.

I'd be very surprised if Ali started this one.

I think that's the most logical selection but didn't someone say that there would be some surprise selections?

I agree, as pessimistic as that is. Only if we don't make additions that can slot straight into the starting 11 mind. I just feel we either need to be stronger and have more steel, grit and strength about us, or be more creative and flowing in our football and I don't think we're either of the two.

I was hoping new wide players could help us achieve a more effective attacking style of play or a creative central player, which we don't seem to be looking for.

I think it be perfectly feasible for Dier to be put in CDM, and Dembele moved further forward. It be nice to see the above with Oduwa in their with the front 4, or Ali alongside Nabil and again, Moussa moved forward.
