Offers us a threat from a wide position which gives our team a whole new dynamic. We need to score more and inproving the ammunition seems like a pretty good way of going about it.

I just saw Trippier put in more dangerous crosses in half a match than I've seen Walker do in his entire career.

I think we'd score more goals with him in the team and I don't think we'd concede any more.

Looking forward to seeing him this year as he was very impressive last night. He was right in front of the Tottenham contingent and was always looking to pick up a long pass and move forward with it (unlike some others).

He showed exactly what I expected of him in that MLS match. I'm ecstatic that we signed him as I think he's exactly what we needed.

Now the only worry is Poch inexplicably picking Walker ahead of him.

Walker is still a decent player, just struggling with form. If bringing Trippier in makes Walker a better player then I'm happy.

I'm not really desiring to get into a Walker debate, but I prefer the skillset Trippier brings (crossing from deep etc.) as I believe it better compliments our squad than Walker's skillset.

Trippier has had one decent ish season with the big boys. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

And a whole year of proving what he can do in the league already...

It's not like we've never seen him before.

And that 1 year was no where near as good as the year walker had when he won POTY

I'm sorry, but if we're going to go that far back and not count injuries than Falcao is bound to be immense this season and Sandro is one of the best DMs in the game.

He probably will.

I see what you're saying, it was back in 2012.

I do think people have short memories though. Fuck me, the kid was like terminator, never got injured, and then suffered some horrific injuries that has really hampered him since, especially last year and towards the end of the 2013-2014 season.

Whilst Walker probably has the higher ceiling of the two players I think Trippier is the player we need more.

We play this system where our WFs come inside and our fullbacks are supposed to create width. But if your fullback doesn't do anything with it aside from roll is back and inside then he's just occupying space in an attacking sense. Trippier will cross at every opportunity and that will mean more chances for Kane, Chadli and possibly, if he stays and ends up on the pitch, the type of chances Soldado has not had since we signed him.

Even Rose, to a certain extent, is more of an attacking threat in the same way Dani Alves is in that he gets into the box and has scored a few that way. So having someone who's first instinct is to cross it will improve the play of the team.

I don't know why this becomes a walker v tripier debate. Both will be used plenty this season.
Tripier looks good. We will see how walker gets on with a preseason behind him. Hopefully he has got over the injury and gets back to his best.

If we have two games a week poch will rotate the full backs as he did last year to keep them fresh.

Yep and that's the shame thing it's had a massive impact on him

Poch didn't rotate Davies and rose, did he.

They'll both get games but one a lot more than the other, IMO.

1st half the season he did. People were complaining that he didn't keep the same team. Second half they complained he didn't rotate.

Davies played 27 games for us last season.

People, including me, will always find something to moan about. Personally, it was clear from before Xmas that Rose was our starting LB. If he had mixed it up I would have been pissed off. All about playing your best players, or players who are in good form.

If that's Trippier next season I'll be happy but I'll be equally happy if walker raises his game as well. I do find it funny how all of a sudden walker is a shit RB and it's even funnier how Trippier is meant to be our saviour, ignoring the fact that when walker was tripper's age he was POTY and in the team of the season. Trippier, on the other hand, has had one ok season for Burnley yet he's the messiah.

As i said davies played 27 times last season. 12 of them in the league. Danny Rose played 34 games total.

If we play two games in a week i can see the fullbacks being rotated. 1 may be preferred for the league and the other for cups but they will be rotated. They use too much energy running up and down the wings to play too many games.
