Has Trippier played a minute for us yet, or am I missing something? Do we think he is going to get a chance this Thursday? He was included in the UEFA A List wasn't he?
He'll presumably start Thurday. But IMO, he should be our first choice RB. Think he's a better defensive player than Walker and has more to his game going forward because although he's not as pacey, he has an end product.

Walker has been one of our best players so far this season.

Walker has definitely stepped up this season, that's probably due to the increased competition from Trippier, I don't know what Trippier is like defensively but I do know that he is better going forward than Walker.

Yeah, walker has so much pace, but doesn't do anything with it. On the defensive side though, I do feel it's just like what happened with rose, although it's still early days.

Yeah I tend to disagree with that. He's looked better than last season, but then again, its not difficult to look better than that. He still hasnt looked all that good and has still made some really stupid decisions.

Trippier was very solid defensively for Burnley last season, who actually played good football.

Ever noticed the player who isn't getting picked is always better? :D

I hope Trippier starts on Thursday and has an absolute stormer, the more pressure on places the better as far as I am concerned.

Trippier ready to take his chance at Tottenham

Following his move from Burnley in the off-season, Kieran Trippier is patiently awaiting his chance to break into Tottenham's starting XI.

Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier is happy to bide his time as he searches for his first Premier League appearance with the London club.

Trippier, 25, made the move from Burnley in the off-season but he is yet to play any minutes in the league.

The right-back has played just three games so far this season - two in the Europa League and once in the Carling Cup.

Kyle Walker is Trippier's competition at right-back, with the two friends having played together when England made the final of the European U19 championships in 2009.

Trippier defended his decision to move to Tottenham, claiming he could have easily gone somewhere where he was guaranteed a starting spot.

"I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League and making sure that when I get my chance, I take it," Trippier said.

"As soon as Tottenham came in for me, I wanted to sign. Maybe I could have gone somewhere else with less competition but me and Kyle are good mates, and we are both trying our best to get that position.

"We played for the England Under-19s at the Euros in Ukraine in 2009, so there is no bitterness between us. When he plays, I am in the dressing-room encouraging him and wishing him well.

"We have a laugh together in training. There is no animosity or jealousy between us. We are both mates."

Trippier is in line to make another start in the Europa League on Thursday when Tottenham travel to Anderlecht.

Good attitude. Unfortunately for him it's exactly the same situation we had with rose last year. Davies signed and rose stepped up his game, walker now doing the same.

Backup striker for Kane please Daniel!!

Walker coming back stronger was hardly a surprise. This year he had a preseason, and no matter what some of our fans want to believe, he is actually one of the better right backs in the League, at least defensively.

Trippier will have his work cut out for him.

This.

Decent player. I think some the angst towards Walker is that he showed so much promise I at least thought he'd turn out a world beater.

Trippier will need to play very well to become no.1....... Has he got that in him? time will tell.

Is he better than Naughton?

Exactly this, and it's working wonders. We went 2 or 3 seasons between BAE's last consistent season (probably 2010/11?) to the beginning of last season where we didn't have a reliable left-back. As soon as we got competition in for Rose he shone. I'm glad to see the right-back situation was addressed a lot sooner and we didn't have those 2-3 seasons of panic.

Walker has been better but Trippier hasn't really had a run. Vs Arsenal in Carling Cup I wasn't that impressed to be honest and I had quite high hopes for him ousting Walker but that is no where near enough matches to judge him.

Hopefully he plays vs Anderlect and puts in a stormer.

I can't see a footballer in this guy. Was he that good last season?

He was ok at times today on the ball but poor going forward and never marking his man..

Awful positioning in the second half. At fault for second goal and would have been at fault for the third if Lloris wasn't so damn good.

Can't say I'm too keen on what I've seen so far. Walker has his faults but at least he's got his physical attributes to fall back on.
