The key thing for me is that he plays the ball early and takes a very good corner.

I can't help but look at this and think to myself, "Why the hell do footballers have shit tattoos?"

Don't get me wrong, I love tattoos, but footballers get some really shit ones done. Most of them are just shit designs, but some of them are really badly done too. You'd think they'd be able to afford some of the best artists out there.

Whats gonna happen to Yedlin.

I really hope we don't ruin the kid.

Going on loan to newly promoted Norwich. Will probably get alot of game time and develop well. After that we'll see how Walker's fitness is and assess whether to keep Walker/Trippier or keep Trippier/Yedlin.

I do worry that his lack of pace will moot his ability to get forward effectively in the system we play. Davies looked like a player up until he joined us, and I fear Trippier will be another to suffer from poch's system. Its so essential that both fullbacks get up and down the flanks and provide width. That being said, I'll reserve any real judgment, I may be pleasantly surprised and bringing him in at such a low fee offers extremely low risk.
Davies was poor the season prior to joining us and I was very vocal about not wanting to sign him, due to his lack of pace, reluctance to get forward and being the most skinned player in the PL. I have a few worries about Trippier but I'm confident he will be a much better signing than Davies and the fact that he is constantly improving, gives me hope that he will eventually fix any issues his game has.

There may have been a release clause, you have to ask yourself why it's so low. It's not in the nature of any business to value the assets below their value, and he signed a new contract a year ago.

As I said , I don't know the player and at £3.5m I don't expect much, but then again I never do, too many players have signed and been a disappointment.
His contract ended last season and if they hadn't agreed to the low release clause (which only came into effect because they were relegated) then he would have walked on a free last year.

It might seem like a shit deal for Burnley but they got him for another season, got a small fee for him and if they didn't get relegated, they wouldn't of had to worry about him leaving for a small fee.

There's been so much disagreement on here about Yedlin ("why isn't he playing?" vs "he's not ready!" etc) but I think sending him on loan to Norwich is such an obvious win/win for us, provided he gets ample game time.

Ok, so he's done well at international level and probably should've been given a chance at the end of the season, but even during those meaningless friendlies he made some big errors. I appreciate Chiriches and Dier have made mistakes too, but based on what we've seen of Yedlin I wouldn't trust him to play week-in week-out in the likely event that Walker has a long lay off.

Send him to Norwich, let them blood him and give him some well needed experience. He'll get a few of the mistakes out of his system and get adjusted to the pace of the league. If he tears it up, great; we can bring him into the team next year. If he's shit then we dodge a bullet and don't sacrifice any cheap points due to his mistakes.

It worked for Walker at Villa, it worked for Rose at Sunderland. Why not do it again? Sometimes I wonder if people are getting a bit carried away with youth after the rise of Kane and Bentaleb. I want Yedlin to succeed as much as anyone but why take such a big risk?

Hopefully a RB and RW backup in the premier league, featuring as starter in some competitions and totaling up around 30 appearances... But breaking through that scenario if he has outstanding performances, which I believe he is quite capable of doing.

I like this signing a lot. I think Trippier can add a very good dynamic to our team and our attack with his crossing ability.

I think With him and Rose we can have a similar attacking dynamic to what we've seen at Everton with Coleman and Baines, except the sides reversed as Rose is more like Coleman and Trippier more like Baines. Like Baines Trippier isn't known for his pace, but is still incredibly deadly with the ball at his feet and he's a decent defender.

*Obviously I'm not saying our pair is as good as the Everton pair, but their skillsets are strikingly similar.

Things i know from Kieran Trippier atm; his defense styles is like Chiriches' but much more discipline, and he attacks and cross a ball like Dier (Dier mk.II ??)

Anyone slightly concerned that our two competing RB names when shortened in the time honoured fashion abbreviate to "Walks and Trips" , perhaps we shouldn't water their side of the pitch too much before kick-off ?

I like this years shirt and always happier with white socks as for me they look better (and latest ones look very cool).

But the shorts look kinda cheap and nasty in this pic?

Sorry know this isn't kit thread but seeing this pic made me think of it.

And I agree his tattoos look shit lol :playful:

I thought he was our best player today. Some nice defensive work and very involved going forward. So good to have a full back who can actually cross instead of constantly hitting the 1st defender. Doesn't need to beat his man to deliver either.

It seems obvious to me that you're saying our pair are as good as the Everton pair, personally I think it'd be more accurate to say their skillsets are strikingly similar.

*EDIT: got it, now I see what you mean

Looked very good last night, hopefully that continues. Not as explosive as Walker, but quick enough and composed, with quality delivery. I think we may have got a bargain for £3.5m.

I'm glad we've got him and at 3.5 mil it's an absolute no brainier. I do think he's being over hyped though
