with all the chat on here about how hard transfers are and we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, Gards has pretty much said this is due to us not paying enough for Berahino. This is the problem with all ou transfers, we aren't willing to pay the amount teams want, so it all drags out like it has

The "chat" on here has come from a number of respected ITK's, one in particular who has an insight into the workings of the agent World. Add to that the fact that the asset has a voice, as stated countless times previously, and has a say in who he goes to.

Gards is also a respected ITK, but his information, so far, is unsubstantiated, whereas the other respected ITK's all seem to be on the same page.

Yet your CHOICE is to believe that ALL of the "perceived" delay is always, 100% down to the club?

Are you on a wind up?

Fuck. Me. Sideways.

Have you ever bought anything in your entire life? Have you ever made a purchase? Ever bought a house? A car? Something at a market? You offered what you thought something was worth? Funny, I reckon the Seller asked for more than you were willing to pay? Am I close? Did you then maybe up your offer? Or make it contingent on certain events? Maybe you offered something in return to swap? Did he then lower the price? Did you discuss the valuations and the reasons for it?

HAVE YOU EVER FUCKING BOUGHT ANYTHING, YOU ABSOLUTE SAUSAGE?

Give me five hundred million pounds or I will ban you from this site.

That is the amount I want for the service you require. By your logic, pay me. I'm not being unreasonable.

It's okay, when he's taken off in the 83rd minute after a first half-hatrick, throwing his shirt to a ball-boy as he leaves the pitch and blowing kisses to all four corners of the hawthorns, then we'll know he's signing for us tomorrow.

(This is not ITK by the way)
But, if it happens, I will follow you like a disciple.

Didn't we also sign Teddy Sheringham after he scored for Nottingham Forest against Liverpool in the first ever live TV Premier League game in 1992?

Although a big brown envelope stuffed with cash was allegedly involved.

I want to be there next time you are cross examining in a court room Stoof . I have no idea what type of law you practice but the thought of you rounding on a defendant saying "I put it to you sir that you are an absolute sausage" is worth a day of anyone's time

I'm not saying you are wrong. You aren't. But you are presenting a simplified picture.

Fans are not buyers or sellers. They are patrons. Ie. we spend our bitterly earned money, but we are left with no say in the operation. We don't share in the profit. We are not necessarily better off from a "bargain" on the purchasing side. Without being a direct stakeholder, we know we are vital to the business. No fans, no income, no operation. At all.

It's like going to a restaurant. I don't own it. I'm not responsible for the salary, or how hard it is to fetch good staff. I simply want good value for my money. So naturally, I think they can offer higher quality of wine for the same price. Or a bigger portion for the same price. Or less salt in the main course but more chocolate in the desert.

In short, I'm not heard, the restaurant owner doesn't listen to me. But I think I should be offered more for the money I leave behind at an establishment that is not my own. An establishment which only exist because my affiliation with it exists.

The fans fund football. Directly AND indirectly, football exists because fans exist. It is only natural to expect that the club desires to improve our experience beyond a normal framework of how an average buying and selling process develops.

That's in fact why we love ITK. "Does it look like the club finally will take seriously my hopes of improved entertainment, in return for my long standing loyalty and funding?"

Yes he scored the first ever goal when it became the Premier League. It was while he was playing for Forest. He signed for us shortly afterwards and finished the season the leagues top scorer.

Sorry, I'm really at a loss as to what you are on about. I'm talking about understanding how you buy something. Not the "role of the fan".

The bloke was talking about "paying what the Sellers want" - that's not getting good value for money.

I sit in my office all day doing commercial property. No courtroom for me. It's almost like I advise on the legal side of buying and selling multi-million pound assets. Almost exactly like that.

And I'm talking about how from a fan's perspective, it's not about a buyers or sellers role in a deal. Fans shouldn't be expected to view the dealings of Spurs from the same perspective as managers and owners, because it doesn't necessarily suit the fan's interest. Fans are not direct stakeholders in buying players, they are indirect stakeholders. As such, The parameters for a "good" and a "bad" deal are different.

It's interesting that you mention value for money. Good value for money for a owner is buying cheap players who can play football. Good value of money for a fan is seeing good entertainment on the pitch relative to the ticket price. They don't necessarily align very well, and that's OK.

And then the restaurant goes out of business cos it's giving you champagne at lambrini prices! Win win
Lambrini? Is that some cheap brand?
Hey, I'm not saying that the fan's perspective is the most correct one. I'm saying that is a natural one to have, regardless of how "right" or "wrong" it is.
