I would imagine he's on quite high wages with us ( i.e. too high for the sort of teams who'd be interested). Although Villa seem like they'll throw the cash around, but maybe he doesn't fancy a relegation scrap.

I just pray he doesn't end up at West Ham. I'd find that hard to stomach.

At last someone seeing more than a bidding war. He would surely turn down less appealing destinations even if said clubs bid the most and have offers accepted. We could also veto. Suspect we might if the hammers are interested.

I'll always remember him scoring our 4th at the Effeminates in the 4-4 draw, always
That and his setting up of crouchie at the San siro. Sadly though they were few and far between and his lack of end product with his crossed will always be the biggest disappointment. I still expect levy to value him around the 6 m mark

And his goal against Chelsea for our first win against them in over a decade.

Not necessarily true. If for example Everton bid 4 million it doesn't matter if a dozen clubs bid higher if Lennon insists he will only go to Everton then 4 mill is still all we will get.

That's really not how negotiating works.

If Everton really want him and other clubs are offering £6m then they are forced to make a decision. If no one is offering then they can simply stick to their guns.

£4m is ok, I imagine shifting his wages is the most important thing.

It's not as though we will spend the £4m. Serious note though, I imagine this is why the transfer has taken so long, we are probably holding out for a bit more but Everton are insisting on £4m.

Maybe Levy is waiting for Stones to be sold? Then he knows they have the money to up the bid if they want him.

Maybe Man City will buy him and get him to show Raheem Sterling what the future looks like.

We have to take into account the fact that Lennon's wage demands are surely much, much higher than the Gayles and Chesters of the world, making his transfer more expensive overall and driving down the fee clubs might be willing to pay.
