How long has Lennon left on his contract?

4 million is surely taking the piss in today's market. I think around 7-8 sounded about right.

Although I guess they know we don't intend to use him at all, so that's weakened our bargaining position.

Got to agree with Mr Pink and thebenjamin here. 4M is in the low side for a player of Lennon's calibre, but Poch going public stating he isn't part of his plans drives down the price.

That being said, this latest info from Gards is further proof that outgoing deals are being worked on as well. Promising times.

@Trix but we don't know what all things considered means so it does seem low for a top 8 winger.

A top 8 winger who will walk on a free next season, who has been in loan last season and publicly been left out of all of preseason and not given a squad number. Our options are take what we get offered or not use him this season and he walks next season. IMO £4M seems decent enough for an asset we aren't going to use.

He is a "top 8" winger who has been frozen out of our squad since last December and has 1 year left on his contract. If we don't sell him he will be costing money, because HE WILL NOT PLAY.

Has he been totally frozen out though? He is training with the first team, which Adebayor is not

£4M is an absolute snip for Lennon. He's still a very good player, as proved during his loan at Everton.

Yep. Our loss is definitely someone's gain.

To put that in perspective, that's 7 Lamela's. I'm well aware that prices are reflective of many variables, but even so that's a bargain.

Such a shame that's it's turned out like this. He might have faults, but he's twice the player Townsend is.

Yeah 4m is low for a TOP winger.

Lennon is not TOP. Lennon never has been TOP. Lennon was a good player but ALWAYS flattered to deceive. Would even float balls into the box that were 3 yards too high for Crouch!!!

I was going to compare him to Steward Downing or Matt Jarvis but on research looks like £4m is market value.

So if there are only one or two clubs interested then £4m is probably a decent price

If 3 or 4 clubs are interested then surely we might get closer to the £7m ish type number.

Fair enough.4 million still seems a bit light but I guess if we've no plans to use him we're going to have to take it.
Personally, I think we're lucky to even get 4m. Quite frankly, IMO, clubs would be quite stupid to even offer that much for him. Yes, he's English but that matters not with this one. We have NO chips to be played here. None. Not even a little. We lost all our bargaining power on both him and Ade when we released the squad numbers and neither were given numbers. Now every single club knows we want them off desperately and that they have been frozen out of the first team completely. Whatever bargaining power we had left is gone now. @Trix is 1000% on the money. We should snap their hands off at 4m for Lennon now. We have to sell him. Otherwise its just paying more wages for someone who has no chance whatsoever to be in the the squad.

Clubs shluldnt offer that much for him now though. Thats the problem. 4m is robbery at this point. We have to take whatever we can get now that Lennon officially has no chance of being back in the squad. We lost all our bargaining power and then some by not giving him a squad number

Exactly. We are not going to play him which means if he stays then he is simply costing us money.

If several teams are interested they will need to bid and come to a fair price. If only one club is interested then they are in a very strong negotiating position.
