the point may come soon that we start putting pressure on SB to act up in an attempt to push the price down. There's been a surprising lack of 'Let me go' in the papers from him. If we see no movement in the next week I would expect some stories to start leaking out about how he needs to move on for the sake of his career, England place etc.

I think it's slightly more than that because he has links to SB's agent (I think).

So I could understand it if he knows that SB wants to come, or even that discussions have been had with regards to wages etc. But if a fee isn't agreed then none of that is relevant.
reminds me of the Bentley situation, he had links to his agent as well and was adamant week after week that he would sign.

I think you may be right although I have never liked when players do that in all honesty, maybe i'm a bit old school but I think they should behave like professionals and not be taking the mick out the fans. So if we can this without all the unnecessaries I will be much the happier.

I think it's usually encouraged by the buying club if they're struggling to agree a fee, to make the idea of keeping the player untenable for the selling club.

Sad but true but IF he holds firm and doesn't go down this route it's actually a bigger testament to his character a let's be honest if they do it once they'd do it to us and it really leaves a sour taste - bit like when Bale wouldn't play in pre-season or watch from the stands. Anyway I hope he does sign as it would be interesting to see different runs to see if Eriksen and Lamela can work a bit of magic - more potent options especially with N'Jie potentially too. Pace, guile and attack - just what the Dr ordered!

I completely agree. I hate it when players use different ways to push through a move, disrespecting the club who pay their wages. It's up to the clubs to agree a fee, then if the player wants to move then he can agree with the club.

Given SB's past issues, I guess he'll want to stay quiet and remain professional letting the clubs come to an agreement.

Completely understand your post @thebenjamin and agree with @KirstyG that it seems a natural thing in todays football, but I cannot emphasise enough how much I detest that sort of shit! It shows how completely devoid of principles much of football has become (and is a reflection on society)

We would be/are up in arms with disgust whenever this sort of thing happens to our club.

Rant over, apologies.

Important thing is that whatever is going on it has convinced GF that this is happening. Given that he seems to have links with Berahino's agent we have two options, to be cautiously optimistic or to put the flags out and start dancing.

Cautiously optimistic - until he is in our matchday squad I wouldn't like to write off City coming in and nabbing him...

Perhaps they're also planning to bring Adebayor out onto the pitch Saturday to announce his formal departure.
The place would go crazy...

If he goes to West Ham I'd expect fireworks, an open-top bus parade, commemorative DVD and a new bank holiday declared. Nothing less.

I hope you're right. And even if Ghostofarmo is only talking about us having persuaded Berahino, that's still a good sign.

I read it as though he was convinced of the whole deal rather than just with the player, We shall see. He has good previous.

If we keep this thread really, really short today, no spamming, no off topic, no bad jokes about A&C's male genitalia, Levy will be happy with us and we might get an announcement. If we fail, we may jinx it!!!
So hushhhh everybody, grab a strong cuppa and no unnecessary posting. :nailbiting:

Open season on his lady bits then?

Connor Ogilvie has joined stevenage on a one month loan. It's on the official site.

As millions of Spurs fans around the world stay glued to Spurs' social media today awaiting confirmation of an exciting new signing, you have to take your hat off to the club for delivering 12 tweets in the past 2 hours, including 3 announcements, and not one of them being anything we're interested in.

Champions League shithousing that.

Maybe Levy will break the news to us in the next hours about N'Jie. At least that's what I'm hoping for. Don't lose hope mate;)

To be honest I'm happy at the loans we've secured out, nice little flurry over the past 2 days.
