Not many applauding Dembele? He has improved vastly since last season! Forward balls, attack-minded & just being a general boss. Really impressed so far. Hope he isn't out of action too long!

If N'jie hasn't played yet then not sure when we'll be seeing son.

Trippier should have had a taste and Alli should have had more minutes by now, pritchard should have come on for us today on 60/70mins.

My love doesn't blind me. ;)
Nudge's probably not up to speed and think son will get a look in sooner than him

best game of the season for me. We looked more threatening. Chadli was dangerous if not wasteful, Mason was very positive along with dembele with some nice forward passes, and bents and dier were strong in the centre. Thght we dominated, and on todays game, apart from that nice pass to gerarld deflower, saw nothing from mccarthy that we dont already have.

We all know kane needs help, and potentially a rest, but imo he needs a partner at the moment. At the end he was dropping deeper and he passes so swiftly that his skill set can be better utlised with space ahead of him and players to pick out

Please guys, until Son and Njie have played some competitive minutes can we stop harking on about how they are due to come in and make a difference. Its disrepectful to current players in our squad, and shows we/you have learned nothing from the influx of players 2 years ago. Yes, I am looking forward to them play, I am sure they will be brilliant....but please.

Actually enjoyed that game.
Simply put, a massive step up in terms of performance today.
Possession was still high but we also played with a much higher tempo and belief (for a change).
It was just unfortunate we couldn't quite find that finishing touch.
I thought Dier and Rose were outstanding, kudos to Mason for playing with his head up and making some great runs into the box, and I quite like Chadli today aswell, looked confident taking his man on and laid the ball off nicely.
Kane is going to find it tough this season as teams are already doubling up on him but he kept going once again and was just unlucky.
All in all - happy! Work in progress!!

I agree he's done better on the whole and looks more dynamic and willing to advance the ball, but I thought he had a poor game today in comparison with the first 3.

I think Dembele is misplaced as an AM3 - not enough "attack" in him (for this system). He holds the ball well, and may be better paired with Dier as a CM2.

And you've possibly posted number 70 as a final one for some time if A&C reads your post.

No need for that kind of abuse on here no matter what a posters views are. None whatsoever.
on recent experience i can back GG on the potential ban popping up ;)

I think the last 25 mins proved that Ali needs to start next match ahead of Mason. Kept getting into the area.

And Dier did have a good game, but too many occasions he had a chance to slot a pass through but went for backwards/sideways option instead. I think this is the difference between Dier and Schneiderlin/Moutinho (they can do both)
Dier has the techinical ability but he is in a new position where things happen much quicker and the game comes at you from all sides. It will come for him. I just wish people would be as willing to 'give him time' in a similar way to the calls for lamela to be given time. Four games in and he has gotten better in each performance. Progress indeed.

Glass half full.

Dier MOM, Rose back to his best after a lengthy lay off and Harry unlucky, with Alli showing promise. Everton offered fuck all and we kept a clean sheet.

Clinton and Son yet to start and Poch has a big selection dilemma to to face over the coming weeks. I wouldn't bet on us making the top five but then again i wouldn't bet against. If we can play with a bit more pace on the break, use Son and Clinton to their maximum then we will win more than our fair share of games.

Wouldn't want to be in Poch's shoes over the coming weeks with which starting eleven to pick, not one bit.

I dont think chucking every single promising young player and new signing in the side all at once is necessarily a good idea. It kind of works in FIFA15 but its not that simple in reality. We've got a new CB and also Dier in a new role already dont forget.
Trippier and alli are just no-brainers for me. Prtich should have had 20mins today imo.

I am beginning to like the shape of the defence, apart from clusterfuck walker and the moments his mind goes absent. Its the midfield that I am worried about, when we get the opportunity to push on and forward we seem to come up against an invisible brick wall. They stop look round and pass the ball backwards. Is Pooch's lack of adventure rubbing of on our players? I vaguely remember when Benteleb used to push forward with intent, now he is unsure. Although Eric Dier has been tremendous in the middle, it is not his position, his football brain is not yet up to speed. Harry had more chances today, but............. you could sense his frustration, Townsend mark 2 at times. That game was crying out for fast wingers (old fashion talk) Trippier, Yedlin. to provide some service for Harry.

I'm still struggling to figure out what he's best at. I like him and he's got some good qualities but he's not really convincing in AM or CM. Always comes across as a square peg.

Superb performance by Howard? I see that as poor finishing being frank, it's not good enough.

Yeah, all of his saves you'd expect him to make. We really didn't work him particularly hard. All basically straight at him.

As ever, there was plenty of good, but I don't think we really looked like scoring - which is amazing when you have 20 attempts. We could have played for another half hour and still not scored.

Lucky we've just signed two attackers, and hopefully another on the way.

The lack of perspective and ability to watch a football match and take in what is happening is astounding from some people in here.

That was our best performance of the season so far. We had some great opportunities but unfortunately found a keeper made of bricks in the way, as well as some poor finishing. Not to mention the referee being dreadful for most of the game too, which did effect the way we could play with 25 minutes to go.

Kane should have scored and would have scored last season, but Howard did great to force him into taking the shot when he did. He pulled off two great saves from Mason too.

We were just really starting to push hard when Dembele got injured and it effected our play and Kane's involvement after that. I was impressed with Alli again though, and if Dier had been a new DM we just signed, people would be masturbating themselves into a coma with how well he played today.

Having Rose back really helped how we moved forward too. He offered so much more than Davies in the last three games, and I think even Walker was helped by Rose's inclusion. It was his most psitive performance for a while.

The referee though. Fuck me. He really fucked our play in the second half. Every 50/50, midfield two way tussle went Evertons way. He booked two of our players for challenges that were then made almost identically by Everton's players, yet they weren't booked. Bentaleb pulling someone back (which I accept is a yellow), but then two minutes later Lukaku did the same, but nothing but a free kick was given.

He didn't book Oviedo, who was already warned, for a run blocking challenge on Alli but did when Dier did it.

It really effected our play on the final 30 minutes and the players ability to tackle and go forward with purpose. If the Everton players had been booked for the same things it would have stopped them from coming forward with so much purpose in the last few minutes, we could have gone on to win it.

Looking forward to seeing Son and Njie in the side, added to Eriksen, who we really missed in the final third today.

All over though, it was positive. We dominated and created. On another day we could have won 4-0.
